Forever Canvas November 27, 2015 07:00
I don't know about you but, I always feel like there are several weddings to attend during the holiday season. There truly is something magical about utilizing all the beautiful decorations and snowy backdrops for a ceremony. I need to be prepared and I've done just that by creating a canvas art project using two cut files from the shop.
I'm going to walk you through my process a little bit and show you have I utilized these awesome cut files... on a canvas!
First, I love the heart background file. It's so pretty and I thought, how cool to use it as a stencil or mask! So, after prepping my canvas with a red watercolor wash, I laid out the cut out and spritzed some gold spray everywhere:
The gold spray is very watery and bled through a little bit. I could still make out the heart shape in the background but, had the idea to use a few of the cut out hearts as embellishments. So, I mixed some of the watercolor with modeling paste and went to town:
They needed something a little more so, I used some of my glimmer mist and added some sparkle. I don't know about you but, I really love getting messy with inks and the like. It can be so much fun!
After the canvas had dried, I arranged everything and then glued it down. I used Glossy Accents and the fine tipped nozzle worked like a charm. To complete the canvas, I used the word cut file Today/Always/Forever. Such a beautiful sentiment! I only utilized the outline of the words. There are so many possibilities with this particular cut file but, I really liked how it looks without all the middle shapes and such. Here is the final product:
I failed to mention this canvas is a 6x6. It really turned out so cute! Can you see the stencil showing through???
Thanks for swinging by today! Make sure you go check out the shop. There are so many awesome new designs popping up each week!
Love This Moment August 17, 2015 07:00
Hello JustNick friends!
Marcia here today to share my latest layout using some fabulous JustNick cut files. I was drawn to the Heart Background 2 since I am still scrapping photos from my daughter's wedding. I like that some of these hearts are open. They are perfect for creating a shaker effect with some vellum, sequins, and gold stitching. Here is how my layout turned out ...
I love the softened feel the vellum adds. Here is a closer look at those sequin filled hearts...
I used one of the Scripty Phrases for my title; "Love This Moment". It's elegant script is perfect for my wedding photos.
Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to check back often as Nicole adds awesome new files to the store every week.
