GRATEFUL JOURNAL | Nathalie DeSousa November 16, 2021 09:00

Hey there!

Nathalie with you today to share a bit of my Grateful Journal -which has wrapped up, so December Documenting will start soon!-.  I went with a hybrid approach to this year journal, so having Just Nick Design cut files just made it so easy to put this together..

I loved the new  FALL SPLIT FLORALS cut file. So, I pulled my Foil Quill and set to create the image on vellum - but photographing foil is probably one of the trickiest things out there!-

I kept the page simple, and decided to frame the foiled image so that it shimmers on its own.

Here is another one of my entries.  This time, I used the  HAUNTED Cut file and HAPPY HALLOWEEN cut files to print onto my patterned paper, thus creating my title page.

I have to say that I love Nicole's designs and how versatile they are.   So, if you do not have a diecutting machine, you can still use the cut files for your projects.  Be sure to  check them all out

GRATEFUL 2021 | Nathalie October 13, 2021 07:00

Hi there!

Nathalie with you today to share a bit of inspiration using JustNick Studio's newest cut files.   We just celebrated Thanksgiving here in Canada, and that means that it is time for my gratitude journal ( 30 days ) to begin.  Let me show you how I have started my 6x8 album

I love the new MANDALLA LEAF 1  cut file, and just wanted it for the title page of  my album.   I simply cut it twice from white cardstock, glued the pieces together, and then backed the leaf with shimmer vellum.

I chose a very "Fall-ish" paper for the background ( Vicki Boutin mixed media paper pad), and glued the leaf in the center of the page.   I an using the GRATEFUL cut file to create my title.  I cut it from gold mirror paper and white cardstock.  I glued the gold die cut on the page, then glued the negative white cardstock letters on top of the gold die cut.   Just love how this turned out.

I have already started working on my album, and my day 1 is always about my faith.   So, I decided to go for a hybrid approach for this page.  I am using the BOHO FLORALS 3 cut file  to create the background of my page.   This time, I am using the cut file as a digital stamp.

Using my Silhouette software, I placed the images on the canvas, then added my color choice, and sent it to the printer.  A bit of stamping complete my page!

I love the versatility of JustNick Studio's cut files, and how they can work for all types of paper crafting projects and/or documenting formats. Remember to check them out !

DAILY DOCUMENTING | Nathalie DeSousa April 14, 2020 07:00

Hi there!

Nathalie with you today with a few ideas on documenting your every day using JUST NICK STUDIO cut files in a different way.  I hope you all are safe and healthy  in your corner of the world.  I decided to document this period of our lives in a more structured way, so i am at best moving my handwritten notes to my family album in a hybrid style documenting.

Though i still cut a few pieces for my pages, i decided to use the cut files as digital stamps for my layouts.

I started by using my Silhouette to print the TN REMEMBER THIS cut file to size and print the flower screen on vellum.  I glued this to the page, and create a large pocket for my journal spot.

I used the THIS IS LIFE cut file to cut the words Life & Here+Now images to become the titles of the page. Once i cut them i used a super fine black liner to make them stand out on the page.

I love working with digital files specially on hybrid layouts, as there is so much you can do with a cut file besides creating a cut out.

For this page, i pulled the THANKFUL TN  cutfile, and transform it to a background for my page.  I used the Silhouette machine to add my lines of journal  before printing.   To break the straight lines of the title and journal lines, i added a few butterflies from one upcoming cut file to the shop.

Since i wanted  to balance the page, i  made sure my pictures also were placed on a block formation. I added a small decoration to each picture ( This is Life cutfile) and then added a small BUTTERFLY cut out in between the pictures)

I hope these have inspired you to use the JustNick studio cutfiles in a new way.  Nicole's designs are amazing and so versatile.  Check them out!

Keep Safe friends!!
