JustNick Cut File Store

Hello Summer | Nicole Kerr July 15, 2021 07:00

Hello JustNick friends!
Nicole here and today I have a very colorful and "tasty" layout to share with you using the new Cool Treats cut file.
This cutfile has four of the cutest popsicles and ice cream cone ever and I couldn't resist using all four to document some tasty ice cream on vacation!
For my layout, I used Echo Park's Summer Dreams mini kit that had this adorable popsicle paper! I divided it into four sections by stitching a few different colors of thread on my sewing machine in a couple different stitch patterns. This not only provides that visual barrier between each section, but it also helps to flatten down the mixed media that I started with. After adding the gesso and watercolors, paper tends to warp and the stitching helps to flatten it back out a bit.
Once the four areas were divided, I created each like a mini 6x6 layout, using the top left as my title section and the bottom right as more of embellishment and journaling spot. I used one of the cut files in each of these areas as large embellishments, backed with coordinating papers from the collection.
In the other two areas, I used photos of my boys enjoying their specialty ice cream on the boardwalk! It's one of our favorite night time treats!  In these areas, I used the cut files as embellishments and like a layering piece behind my photos. I also used some puffy stickers and acrylics from Elle's Studio and tangled thread from my stash to help embellish those areas.
These "cool treats" are super cute and add the perfect touch to any summer, sweet treat spread! Thanks for taking the time today to stop by and see how I used them! Please tag us on IG or Facebook showing how you used them on your next project!

Mmmmm Ice Cream | Majken Pullin June 22, 2021 07:00

Hello everyone and welcome to the JustNick Studio blog!  Majken here with you today, and I'm sharing a "sweet" layout.  Let's take a look:

Does this lovely cut file make you hungry for some ice cream?  I cut out the Ice Cream cut file in white textured cardstock and then backed it with shimmer brown cardstock and patterned paper. Dark brown enamel dots for chocolate chips...yum!  And I machine stitched around the ice cream and throughout the cone for some fun texture.

For the title of my sweet layout, I used the very cute Doodle Alphabet and cut out all my letters with white textured cardstock as well.  I backed the first part of the title with the lighter part of an ombre patterned paper.

And then I backed the remaining part of my title with the darker part of the ombre patterned paper.

I created some tags for my photos and tied them together for a very mini-tag album!

I put journaling in the center of my title and added a bow and some other little touches.

Here are the cut files I used!

I hope this inspires you to create some fun elements for your past and future ice cream outings!  Please share with us on Instagram using #justnickstudio tag.  We would love to see them!

Have a great week.

Sunshine & Happiness // Joanna Bandelin August 11, 2020 06:00

Hi friends, Joanna Bandelin here sharing a colorful 12x12 scrapbook page. For my layout I used 2 cut files from JustNick.
When I first saw the new Ice Cream cut file I knew I had to use it along with these pictures of my girls. They are always the happiest when they get their ice cream! :)
I decided to cut out 4 and reversed 2 of them so they framed the photos.
I used the Picnic in the Park collection by Amy Tan to back the cut files.

I did a little bit of messy water colors on the background for a pop of color.
I used the Sunshine & Happiness cut file for the title and cut it out really big with pattern paper.
I hope you're inspired to dig out those ice cream pictures and get to scrapbooking!
Have a great day.
