Love You November 6, 2015 07:00
Hey, there! Jennie McGarvey here with a brand new page featuring the Let It Shine Background. I love the JustNick files and I couldn't stop there. I had to also include the Love You from the Scripty Phrases, which I just LOVE. Such a beautiful font and really versatile phrases.
In this case the background is really subtle since I used a coordinating vanilla card stock to back the patterned paper. The files really work well together and help define this page.
Have you used either of these cut files? Did you think to pair these together? Thanks for stopping by and make sure to share with us on Facebook or tag us on Instagram how you are using the Just Nick cut files!
How I Love You October 23, 2015 07:00
Hey, there! Jennie here and I cannot wait to share with you the latest page I created. Four cut files on one page?! For me, that is definitely unheard of. And, a totally fun challenge.
I thought about it for a bit. Then I envisioned the files in a circle. And that is how this page was born. I took the arrows in All Boy and Arrow Set 2, then a word (You) from Everyday Words Background and one from Word 3 (love).
How does this all come together? Just like this!
Paired with some Amy Tangerine die cuts and you've got a whole circle full of die cuts that really accentuate one of my favorite photos.
Try pairing a bunch of files together -- maybe say, four!

Hey, there! Jennie McGarvey here with a brand new page featuring the Going in Circles cut file. I pretty much love this one. It's going to be super versatile and easy to use over and over again. Did you know it's the FREE download for October? Yep, you read that right it's FREE, starting Friday!
I wanted to use this cool file in a different sort of way. Circles are a regular part of my pages, since they lend themselves to sports pages pretty easily. So I wondered how I could use this cool file as an accent without competing with the rest of the page. Then, I thought what if I used it so it looked like it was peeking out from behind the page?
I know. It's a little different. But I love that the file really holds up the page -- it's a super cute part of the page and it really compliments the overall design without competing with it.

Hey, there! It's Jennie back again with a brand new page using a favorite cut file.
As soon as I saw the Radioactive file in the store I knew I would get a lot of use out of it. It's similar to a favorite stamp I have and used to use all of the time! I wasn't wrong, Radioactive is definitely a favorite.
I love the geometric pattern and there is something about that cut file that lends itself to any design you can come up with. It's especially good for boy pages! That's exactly what I need -- awesome shapes that look great paired with masculine photos + products.
How have you used the Radioactive file? I've also paired it on a baseball page with fantastic results!

Hello, there! Jennie here and I'm excited to share with you how I used the Simple Scallops cut file.
This file is so basic and easy to use, I know I'm going to be putting it on my projects on a regular basis. This time, though - I wanted to use all of the borders together, times two, to create a background. This was was pretty fun and it created the overall effect I was looking for.
I love that using the file in this way allowed me to use a lot of different patterned papers without being overwhelming or cluttered. I also love the different sizes of the scallops.

Hello, there! Jennie here and I'm excited to share with you how I used the Speech Bubbles cut file.
This file is so basic and easy to use, I know I'm going to be putting it on my projects on a regular basis. This time, though - I wanted to use all of the bubbles together to create a background with the speech bubbles. I had to add a couple more and move them around -- but that was pretty fun and it created the overall effect I was looking for.
I love that using the file in this way allowed me to use a lot of different patterned papers without being overwhelming or cluttered.
I'm All About... August 6, 2015 07:00
Hey, there! Jennie here today to blast a little bit of summer inspiration your way. The cut files in the Just Nick Store are so fun to use -- and the Sunny Days file is no exception! I've used it before and I couldn't resist using it again to create a page about one of my favorite things - warm days!
I love using the files with patterned papers and the sun + clouds from Sunny Days shows exactly why -- it's just fun!

Jennie here to share with you a page I created with the beautiful Word 3 cut file. I absolutely, positively LOVE this one. The font is just beautiful and these words are so very usable. I looked at the included words for a moment before I decided which one to incorporate in the page I wanted to create.

Hello, there! Jennie here and I have a page to share with you today.
I was super excited when I saw the XOXO Background file in the store. It's super cute and I love the graphic feel of this one. I knew that the love theme would be perfect for my son and our dog. Plus, I could layer patterned papers behind the large die cut and get the feel I was looking for.
Using black card stock helped this really stand out and provided great contrast with the patterned papers. Plus, it was perfect to layer behind my photo.

Hurry Up Summer! June 22, 2015 07:00
Hello, there! Jennie McGarvey here to share with you a page I created using the Just Nick Sunny Days cut file. I really love the sun + clouds, so easy to use when you are looking to create a summery type page!
I enlarged the sun and centered it on the page. Then, I used the negative space and filled it in with patterned transparencies to create a background that doesn't compete with the photos and the embellishments.
Speaking of embellishments, I love the puffy clouds, they were a perfect accent for the page. Plus a little ink on the edges really makes them stand out!
Thanks for stopping by and checking out how I used the cut files. Make sure you follow JustNick on Facebook -- you can see all the latest news and won't miss any new releases!

Hi, I'm Jennie McGarvey! I'm the mom of 3 school aged boys (Campbell, Sawyer and Harrison) and wife to Andy. We currently live in Southern California and enjoy the sunshine and warm temperatures year round. I started scrapbooking when I was 12 and in the current style in 2001 when I was pregnant with my oldest son. I scrapped off and on until 2011, when I decided to get online and share my projects. I have a bright, linear and colorful style that I use on my pages about my kids, pocket pages and cards.
