Live in the Moment - Mixed Media | Majken Pullin August 7, 2021 07:00
Hello crafty friends! Majken here with you this August day to share a mixed media scrapbook layout with a fun title "Live in the Moment", a cut file new last month to the JustNick Studio shop! Let's take a look:
Vicki Boutin's Color Study collection is made for mixed media, and I decided to get messy. I painted Gesso on my white textured cardstock, let it dry, and then painted pink texture paste vertically on the background. Next I stamped polka dots over the top using a similar color of Distress Ink and spritzed some black ink over that. Finally, I used a stencil and some white texture paste over my background.
While all that dried, I cut the Live in the Moment cut file from green patterned paper thinking my title would bring out the green in the flower stem from my photo. But I found it to be too much, so I cut it out again using a black patterned paper. Then I found that one to be too dark. Ultimately I decided to use the green as a shadow to the other one, and I like the dimension of it!
After that, the rest came together quickly with some ephemera, chipboard pieces, and stickers.
Here is the cut file:
Now more than ever, we all deserve to "live in the moment"! Don't forget to share your cut file projects with us on Instagram using #justnickstudio.
Have a great weekend!

Wonderful Moments Together | Nathalie DeSousa September 2, 2019 07:00
Nathalie with you today to kick start Word Week. I love large bold titles, so this was an easy assignment for me, specially when i get to work with some of the JustNick Studio designs.
I used the new Pinkfresh Studio Just A Little Lovely collection to back the letters of the Moments cut file. A bit of foam adhesive between the patterned paper and the cut out create dimension on the cut out.
I cut each word separately, and then glued them together before attaching them to the background. Once the title was in place, i added a picture of my kids and littles at the top of page, nestled in the "wonderful" word.
To decorate the page, i used the new Pinkfresh Studio Painted Florals Washi tape and coordinating dies. I clustered the image together to form a visual triangle in the page, then added some phrase stickers and gold ink splatters.
I love how this turned out, and how easy it came together. Mixing and matching word cut files from JustNick Studio will surely yield a one-of-a-kind image for your next project. Make sure you check them all up!
BEACH, SAND AND SUMMER SUNSHINE | Nathalie DeSousa July 30, 2019 07:00 1 Comment
Nathalie with you today bringing you a new layout that celebrates Summer. With so many beautiful cut files in the JustNick Studio shop, sometimes all it takes is a bit of mixing and matching to bring your ideas to live. This is one of them!
Love a large title layout! To create this page, i reached for the Beach Sand Surf, Sunshine on my Mind and Summer cut files. I played with the words -in the Silhouette software) to create a vertical design that had movement and could be quite colorful.
It all started with adding a bit of mixed media to the background -Vicki Boutin Art Crayon-, while this set, i used the Silhouette Cameo to weld the words in the title and cut it from white cardstock.
I used the machine to also cut the letters to fill the cut out from colorful papers from the Pebbles' Oh Summertime collection. This helped when backing the title.
I added the picture at the bottom of the page, right under the title and used some of the collection's stickers and ephemera pieces to embellish the page
I love how this turned out, all the colors scream summer, and the large title is perfect for the picture of some of my family while in vacation.

ALWAYS REMEMBER TODAY | Nathalie DeSousa May 17, 2019 07:00
Nathalie with you today with a new layout fit for our "word" challenge. I love large titles, so this theme fits right up my alley, and with so many cut files available in the JustNick Studio store, this was just a dream to put together.
To start this page, i pulled together the Word 3, Love List and Word 2 cut files to create the title of the page, "ALWAYS REMEMBER THIS". I simply pick a word of each file and weld them together so that they naturally create a space for the picture.
Once the words were welded, they were cut twice from white cardstock and once from a paper from the Pinkfresh Studio's Everyday Musings collection. The white cut outs were glued together, and then the patterned paper cut out was attached to the white ones with a small offset so that it creates the illusion of dimension.
To add color to the background a bit of liquid watercolor (Pinkfresh Studio) was added so that it covered all the area where the word and picture would sit. While the background dried, i pulled the new Butterfly cut file to cut a few outlines and the shapes from white cardstock and patterned paper.
To assemble the page, first the title was glued to the background, and then using a black fineliner the outline was traced - this emphasizes the title-. The butterflies were glued together, and then they were clustered on the layout based on the respective color in the background.
A few stickers and embellishments from the Everyday Musings collection were added around the layout. A few lines of journal and gold ink splatters completes this page.
I hope this inspires you to check all the word files and other designs in the JustNick shop, the choices are infinite when it comes to mixing and matching designs to create a one-of-a-kind cut out for your project.
Sunshine + Happiness | Rachel Lowe March 28, 2019 07:00
Hi all Rachel here again to share another layout featuring two gorgeous Justnick Studio cut files!
How amazing is the Broken Butterfly cut file!
I have used MME Well Hello collection to create this layout.
I decided I would use two of the Broken Butterflies on my layout, cutting in black card stock and layering the smaller one slightly over the larger one. I used a large floral paper to back the butterflies wanting it to be bright and bold against the black.
So my photo didn't get lost against the busy patterned paper I used to back my butterflies, I matted it, added a floral bunch, washi tape and a phrase sentiment, so they framed my photo. My photo is also attached with foam tape to add height.
I embellished by adding a die cut bird in between the two butterflies and a flower die cut to the wing of the out butterfly.
I decided to serrate my title, adding Sunshine to the top and + Happiness at the bottom of my page, this balanced my layout.
I added a pretty flower die cut above Sunshine so your eye would be drawn there. I finished off with a splatter of black paint. I love how this layout turned out and the creative possibilities with these butterfly cut files are endless.
Thank you for stopping by today and see you again soon.

THIS MOMENT MAKES MY HEART FULL | NATHALIE DESOUSA September 14, 2018 07:00
Nathalie here with the last "Words & Phrases" blog post. For the past two weeks we have been creating projects using some of the JustNick Studio cut files that feature words and phrases. There are so many designs to chose from, and since i love a large (i mean fill the page with it kinda title!) title, this project was a dream to create.
Have i mentioned i love large title layouts?!! There is something about telling a story in a few words with a large title. So for this page, i welded the "This Moment" and " My Heart is Full" cut files to create the large title in my page.
I cut my title from white cardstock, and trimmed the "is" word from the cut out using a sharp pair of scissors. Each letter was backed with papers from the new Maggie Holmes collection, "Willow Lane".
Once, the cut file was set on the layout - the background papers are also part of the WIllow Lane collection- using some foam adhesive. A few flowers from were scattered below the cut file as to create small clusters/embellishmnets to the cut out. These were cut also from white cardstock using the Boho Florals cut file. Love the softness this adds to the page.
Since, I wanted to keep the title and picture as the focal point of this page, my choice was to hide the journal lines in the litte tag that is tucked behind the frame.
Love how this turned out. The use of white cardstock to form the cut out brings out all the details of the beautiful JustNick Studio cut files, and makes it pop from the colored background.
Remember to stop by the JustNick Studio store to check all the cut files used in this page. If you have any questions on how this was put together, please do not hesitate to contact me!
