Feels Like Fall | Monique Liedtke October 25, 2019 07:00
Hello JustNick friends! It's Monique here today sharing a Fall layout using the beautiful new "Leaf Circle Background" cut file and the Truly Grateful collection from Pink Paislee/Paige Evans, combined with a few sheets from her Horizon collection. This cut file is so perfect for a Fall layout, when I saw it, I just had to use it! Here's what I made:
And this is the "Leaf Circle Background" cut file I used:
I cut the leaf circle from the multicolored sheet (Horizon, paper 3) and love the result, with all the leaves in different colors! Just like Fall, right?!
Except for the "Leaf Circle Background" cut file I used two other cut files: the "Feels Like Fall" cut file:
and the "Fall Leaves" cut file:
Fall is my favorite season and every year I'm so happy when it finally arrives. It goes without saying that I love all the Fall cut files and all the Fall scrapbook collections! Here are a few close-ups of my page:
To every cluster of leaves in the circle I added a few more embellishments and also some extra leaves. Some of the leaves I cut with my Silhouette and some of them are from the ephemera package from the Truly Grateful collection. I love all the die-cuts, cardstock stickers and puffy Thickers belonging to the Paige Evans collections and used many of them on my page!
I machine stitched a few of the leaves but not all of them as I really like it when they curl up a little. It gives a bit more depth to the page.
I used two photos of my daughter, reading her book in the park. She's a huge fan of reading and always has one or two books with her, wherever she goes.
I hope I inspired you to scrap your Fall photos! So if you're looking for some fun Fall cut files as well you can find them in the JustNick store!
Thank you so much for stopping by today! Wishing you a wonderful weekend with lots of crafting!

Small Joys - Cathy Martin November 20, 2017 07:00
Hi everyone! It's Cathy here and I'm up on the Just Nick blog today with a layout about being grateful for the small joys in life. Sometimes when everything is getting overwhelming it's nice to take a step back and think about all the small simple things that can be enjoyed. Whether it's the crisp smell of the cool air, laying down in a beautiful pile of leaves, or wrapping up in your favorite cozy sweater, these little things that sometimes seem so silly can be a huge help in keeping you grounded.
For my layout I chose the Leaf Circle Background cut file. I loved how it could be interpreted as a leaf, or a petal, or even a feather. I cut it out of teal cardstock just for a bit of a change-up from my usual white cardstock. I backed it with paper starting from the center ring and going outwards. so that it was the same paper on each ring all the way around. I used a mixture of old and new papers to back the cut file and then it was time to decide what to do for a background paper. Originally I wanted to use a patterned paper, but after trying to decide for over an hour I gave up. I ended up finding this dark wood grain and I really liked how it paired well with the dark colors in the photo. To add a little extra detail I painted tiny white dots in acrylic paint around the outer perimeter of the cut file.
For embellishing I primarily used products from the Turn The Page collection. It paired well with the colors I was using and many of the phrases were perfect for the mood I was trying to set. I also used some wood veneers to add an earthiness to the layout and I found some older burlap embellishments from the Craft Market collection from Crate Paper to top it off. I added some Heidi Swapp color shine in two different pinks to break up the large space between clusters.
Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a look at my project today! I think it's important for us as memory keepers to not only document family and events, but to document our lives and our ups and downs as we go through life!
Love this | Maryám Pérez November 6, 2017 07:00 1 Comment
Hi Friends! Maryám here with you today to share a new project using Just Nick Cut Files. The theme for this week is "leaves" so I decided to use the Leaf Circle Background as the main element of my page.
Once I had the cut file in my hands I started to back the spots. I wanted it to be colorful so I tried to use so many different pattern papers I could. It took me some hours, but once I have it done it looked really cute!
After that, I added some embellishments from the Turn the Page collection, also my photo and my journaling.
Here is the final layout:

Leaf Circle Background 2 Ways | Jaclyn Rench September 23, 2017 07:00
Hi Just Nick friends! It's Jaclyn here today to close out 'background' week on the blog. You've seen several stunning pages featuring backgrounds from the design team, but I thought I'd mix things up a bit and size down my background file of choice to fit atop a card front (or two!).
Nicole has released a bevy of beautiful new leaf themed designs in the shop. The Leaf Circle Background is a new favorite of mine and the one that I chose to adorn my card fronts.
Once sized to fit a standard 4.25" by 5.5" card front, the open circles of the design were a perfect place to hold little critters. I stamped and colored a cute trio of animals from a Mama Elephant stamp set and positioned them to look as if they were peeking out from the open spaces in the design. The remaining leaf-filled circles were backed with colorful papers, that tie in the coloring from the stamped designs.
I went a totally different direction on my next card, and decided to stick closer to the cut file's theme and feel by using a fall color palette. I backed each of the leaf circles with a fall colored patterned paper, and filled the big open circled with a stamped and embossed greeting.
With two circles left, I wanted to do something special and fun! So I created mini shakers out of those circles, filled them with coordinating seed beads and backed them with white cardstock. It's a fun and unexpected element that adds a little something special to my card.
I hope this post has inspired you to look at your library of background cut files in a different way. Specifically I hope it's allowed you to consider using those backgrounds in a much smaller size, that is conducive to card making.

Dream Big | Michelle Whorwood September 12, 2017 07:00 1 Comment
Hi everyone, Michelle here with a new layout using 'Words' as inspiration for all the Just Nick Designers this week. Here is my layout:
I had lots of fun creating my layout and have used three different cut files. I really loved the new 'Leaf Circle Background' file and cut this out on white cardstock to create the basis of my layout and included my photo of my girls into one of the negative spaces of the cut file. I also added in some patterned paper to a couple of the other circles for a bit of added interest.
I also really wanted to add word to my page in a form of a title going down one side of my page. So I used the 'Script Alpha 2' Cut file and welded together some of the letters to create 'be you' and cut this out on some white cardstock. I then added some Shimmerz Mist 'Pretty in Pink' to give it a soft pale pink colour and stitched through the words for some added texture! I then added the 'Dream Big' cut from the Dream Big Cut File set also just on some white cardstock. I love the freshness of the white on white look and adding pops of colour with patterned paper and embellishments to finish off my page!
The cut files I have used:
I hope you have enjoyed my layout today and that you have been inspired to try out some cut titles on your pages!
