Hello, hello JustNick fans. I'm so very excited to join you today with my very first layout on the JustNick Design Team!! I downloaded my first JustNick cutfile two days after Nicole created her store a little over 3 years ago. I had been a fan of her free designs for awhile, so I was thrilled to see her open her shop, and I can't wait to share projects with you all.
Our first share is an About Me page, so I'll start with a quick intro. I've been crafty all my life! I started using stamps around 1989 and scrapbooking in 1999, so I've seen a lot of trends and changes in the industry, including my own style. My day job is marketing for a software company, and besides papercrafting, I adore chocolate, reading, and watching movies and the Houston Astros. I live in Katy, Texas with my husband, Tim, two kiddos, and kitty Oreo.
Okay, on to the layout!
I used the Live Love cutfile to cut three 3" circles using Simple Stories I Am. I used white gesso to prep my cardstock before swirling Distress Oxide ink slightly larger than my circles and spritzing different inks. I added stitching after it dried then popped up my cut circles with foam tape.
I also used the Borders 1 cutfile to create a little interest on the right side of my photo.
I typed out five things about me currently for my journaling.
I love the feel a little mixed media gave my cut files and page, and I hope you are inspired to stop by the JustNick store for these cut files and many others!

Meet our September GDT + another freebie! September 16, 2016 07:00 7 Comments
Please help me in welcoming another talented GDT to our blog today - Meghann Andrew!
I am a 30-something, wife to a Brit, momma to a former micro-preemie, maker and excessive coffee drinker. I currently reside near Houston, Texas, but have lived in several U.S. states and the U.K. I love to travel and cook when I’m not documenting memories.
As with all our guest designers, we asked Meghann to create a few pages for our blog using whichever cut files from the store she would like! Check out this amazing page she created of her sweet, sweet daughter using our C'est La Vie cut file.
As soon as I found the C’est La Vie cut file in the JustNik shop, I knew I had to use it to document a photo from our trip to Paris in 2014. C’est la vie can mean “that’s life,” in quite a sarcastic way, but I was taking it more literal here, to record a beautiful, ordinary moment in our lives, that just happened to be in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I found a photo from our trip that had my main subject on the right side, the space that I had to the right side of “c’est,” and printed it in 8” x 8”, as my cut file was sized at 8” round. Because of it’s beautiful script flourished font, I wanted the layout to have a feminine feel, so I adhered the large photo with cut file to a floral background paper by Heidi Swapp, then surrounded the circle with fussy-cut flowers from an older Dear Lizzy patterned paper.
To give the layout a diagonal design, I added in some extra embellishment on the diagonal line, and printed my journaling on a journaling tag. Lastly, I decided that the die-cut itself needed a bit of color, so I mixed up a very pale pink watercolor to top the saying, and carefully painted it over the top of my photo! I absolutely love the way it turned out, especially the soft feeling that it conveys.
She also sent in this super fun and colorful page using our Live Love cut file:
I must have had circles on the brain, because I was immediately drawn to the Live Love cut file in the shop, and knew instantly that I wanted to document this beautiful photo of my daughter, and record a really hard day in my life, and what it taught me. I cut the circle designs out in white and backed them with bright, striped patterned paper, really making the words stand out. I wanted to keep the circle design going throughout the layout, so I also cut my photo at 4” round, and added in more punched patterned paper circles.
To bring in more color, I added a strip of patterned paper along the left side, then to offset the weight of that, I added my typed journaling and extra embellishment to the right side of the page. The white background with bright pops of color fit so well with this photo, and with my scrapbooking style!
Don't you just love those projects!
We would like to offer the Live Love cut file for FREE until September 30, 2016 to you too! Just use the code: LIVEFREE at checkout and it is all yours

Live . Laugh. Love April 18, 2016 07:00
Hi everyone!
Today, I am sharing a page I created using the Live Love cut file from Just Nick Studio shop.
I used Clique Kits April kit "Origins" featuring Simple Stories Life in Color
I resized the cut files around 2 inches. I only used these 3 but there are actually 4 of them in one file. How awesome is that, right? I used gelatos to achieve the watercolor effect.
Then I mat it over some patterns that I cut from just one paper, it has several tags and with different patterns.
To make the words stand out, I lined the insides with brown pen.
I had fun creating this layout. I hope you find it inspiring!
Thanks for dropping by!

Happy Story April 7, 2016 07:00 18 Comments
Hello! It's Jaclyn joining you for the fourth day of the PinkFresh team up!
I paired some recent beach photos, that I snapped on Spring Break, with the Pink Fresh Life Noted collection and two complimentary Just Nick cut files.
The result is this fun and bright page, with lots of text and loads of personality!
I started with the Totally Tubular cut file, sizing it to approximately 7.75"x7.5", to fill a good portion of my page background. I then pulled in three of the sentiments from the Live Love file, to fill in a scattering of the circles.
The bold blocky font from the Live Love cut file, looks great when backed with various Pink Fresh patterned papers.
I filled in and backed some of the remaining open circle cuts, with the Pink Fresh gold foiled chipboard and pieces from the 3x4" printed cards. The colorful rubber charms and a scattering of sequins were the perfect finishing touch for my design.
Pink Fresh's die cut acetate words make for a quick and cute title. I love that they can be overlapped for a fun, layered look. In addition, I was even able to attach them and layer them with a Life Noted washi tape sticker.
