Thankful for Mom | Morgan Langley May 06, 2018 07:00

Hey crafty friends! Today I am sharing a post for mom's week on the Just Nick blog using the "floral frames" cut file!

I love ALL the beautiful floral cut feels in the shop and all of them make great spring layouts! I started by cutting my frames and backing them with patterned papers from the "Turn the Page" collection. I love how much color this adds. I also watercolored my plain white background before adhering the frames with the packaging technique and some splatters! I tried to match the paint to colors in the collection!

Then for some embossing! I stamped some additional florals and leaves into my frames and embossed with gold glittery powder! I also embossed the "love you" and "thankful for you" sentiments and I love how this turned out!
I fussy cut and added some additional flowers, butterflies, and adorable coffee and tea cups around my floral frame and stuck in a picture of my mom and I now, and when I was little. I created a kind of bottom and top border by using the branding strips of the 6x6 pad and then adding multiple word sentiment stickers.
Thank you for stopping by! Stop by the shop to pick out your own floral cut files and create something for your mom this coming mother's day!

Awesome - Rachel Lowe: April 30, 2018 07:00

Hello JustNick friends!

My layout today is all about bright, bold and fun!  We have a new puppy named Honey and she is gorgeous although still chewing everything left unattended!!!!! So this super cute photo of her at the beach bumped a human on this layout!

I have used the wonderful Blocked Hearts cut file:

I re sized this to 11x11 inch and cut with my chosen patterned paper. I have used Crate Paper Good Vibes collection.

I attached the heart cut file to white card stock. I then fringe cut around the edge for interest. I added some random machine stitching around the frame.

How gorgeous is this photo of my new puppy making her self at home on my expensive towel at the beach, but I let her as I saw the photo opportunity!!!!

I framed my photo and further framed it with embellishments. Again adding some machine stitching to add texture.

I also added machine to some of the hearts and foam taped the negative cut files to create a 3D effect.

I created another feature embellishment cluster, layering and stitching again.

Even background cut files can be layered and height added if you use the negative (or the piece cut out but not a part of the cut file), by adding back in some of the hearts I have been able to create a background that has a  3D effect. By machine stitching on other hearts it adds even more visual interest. This cut file has really made this layout super fun!

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope this has inspired you to create a layout using a cut file and making it your own!

This cut file was SO fun to use! I cut the tags different sizes using a mix of kraft, white, and patterned card stock. Then I backed the cut outs with another scrap of paper and was ready to add some stitching accents!

On some of the tags I used a ruler to mark straight, different sized lines with a pencil and then stitched them, some I stitched around the image, others I stitched snowflakes, and a couple I did some french knot stitches!

I put thread or bakers twine through the hole of each tag and put adhesive so they would stay in position on my layout!

For my background I just sewed on some scraps of Christmas paper with my sewing machine using a mix of white and red threads. I added my photo and some wood snowflakes and Christmas trees and then the layout was complete!

Thank you for stopping by and make sure to get this file (HOLIDAY TAGS 2) today FREE with the code TAGFREE at checkout! Come back tomorrow for the 14th Day of giveaways!

Thankful for You Layout and card by Rachel Lowe: November 22, 2017 07:00

I love owls and this owl cut file is just so cute! I have used Bella BLVD Mind Your Manners collection to create my layout. I cut my owl with white card stock and then ungrouped the owl and used patterned paper to fill my owl. To finish it off I have machine sewn the wings.

I then chose the Card Sentiments 3 for my title and a card I knew I wanted to also make.

I decided to make a shaker pocket using vellum on the lower half of my layout. They are simple to make, cut your vellum paper the same size as your background paper, sew around the three edges leaving the top open. Add your sequins or similar (I have also add some small cork hearts) and then sew up the top.

I then added a bright coloured patterned paper piece to the top of my layout ensuring it covers the top of the vellum. I added a scallop border also between the pattern paper and vellum. I then attached my owl with foam tape. I then tucked my photo slightly under the owl. I have used the Thankful card sentiment enlarging.

I have added some typed journalling and finished my layout off adding a die cut owl and word sticker bottom right of the layout.

Now its time to shake!!!!!!!

I have used the exact same process to make my card just on a smaller scale. I have used the Grateful card sentiment and added inside my card. I used brighter coloured sequins on my card and added a die cut flower inside. My sequins are from Speigelmom Scraps and they are just gorgeous.

Thank you for stopping by today and have a wonderful scrappy week!

Too old for snapchat? | Zsoka Marko July 05, 2017 07:00

Hi there,

Zsoka here with you today sharing my very first layout for Just Nick! I'm so excited to be here, thank you Nicole for the opportunity!

I picked one of the pretty flowers from the Floral and Fauna cut file set.

First I cut out a simple ring, then I cut several of the flowers, in different sizes. I backed my flowers with different papers from the gorgeous Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams collection.

I created a bigger and a smaller cluster of flowers opposite each other on the ring. I added a few different bits and pieces to the middle of them: buttons, chipboard and puffy stickers.

I printed my photo in a couple of different sizes, I wasn't sure which one to add. I didn't like the shape of the photo for this background so I added the same photo in two different sizes.

Other than the flowers I didn't add a lot of embellishments because I wanted the flowers to shine! A couple of chipboards, stickers, title (which I stitched down so it doesn't go anywhere!), date and journaling plus some black paint splatters and done!

I hope you like my project! Thanks for stopping by today. See you next time X

Happy, Masculine Themed Scrapbooking Layout by Heather Leopard June 24, 2017 07:00

Hi everyone. Heather Leopard is here with a Make it Masculine layout. I had fun mixing and matching a few of my favorite geometric shapes to create a really fun layout.

Scrapbooking layout by Heather Leopard @heatherleopard

To create this layout, simply supersize the TRIANGLE BACKGROUND 3 cut file so that it spans the entire 12"x12" page.  Since you're only using a little over half the page, you can either cut the entire 12"x12" page or slice / erase the part you don't plan to use.

Next, fill about half the triangle spaces with patterned paper and fill the remaining pieces with the white cardstock pieces you just cut out, only adhering the center so that the sides lift up a bit and add dimension.

Next, add coordinating patterned paper strips in varying lengths and widths, stitching the layers over each other. Add your photo, title and any embellishments. Then find some white space to add journaling to complete the layout.

123 DAB | Tarrah McLean March 14, 2017 07:00

Hi Just Nick fans!

It's Tarrah McLean back with you and today I am sharing a new boy themed scrapbook layout with you!

My 2 sons are such typical boys......the latest craze is doing a Dab wherever they are without a care in the world! I have had this photo of them doing a Dab together at the Monster Trucks show we went to last year!

Here is the cut file I used on this layout....the Visual Effects background cut file!

I cut the cut file from white cardstock and decided to back it on a darker contrasting colour behind the cut file. I used lots of Crate Paper for this layout including the Hey Boy collection and the Cool Kid collection. The dark background paper came from the Flea Market collection I think it was! I love how the dark strips contrast against the white strips too!

Machine stitching adds some texture to the layout as well as helps to adhere the cut file to the background paper. Recently I got some really fun boy themed flair buttons to add to my stash and one of those just had to be added to this layout!

Thanks so much for stopping by the Just Nick Studio today, I hope you are inspired to try some of the amazing cut files found in the Just Nick store!

Happy creating!

Tarrah x

Joy Card And Merry Christmas Card November 17, 2016 07:00

Hello Just Nick fans! It's Lee-Anne here today and this week it's all about cards.  I am excited to share with you two Christmas cards that I created.

For the Joy Card, I cut out the word "joy" from the Holiday Sentiments cut files with my Silhouette Cameo on black card stock and heat embossed it with black embossing powder.

For the Merry Christmas Card, I cut out the Merry Merry Background 2 cut file on white card stock with my Silhouette Cameo and cut it down to fit the width of the card and centered it on the front of the card. The Christmas tree was also cut out of the black and white tree patterned paper with my Silhouette Cameo from the Tree Trio cut files.

I hope you are inspired to try some cards today.  Have a great day!

Autumn came September 10, 2016 07:00

Hi cut file fans -

it's Laureen here with you today and I have a fall layout.

I don't mind it still being 30 degrees here in Germany - that won't stop me starting the crafting for my favorite season - fall! You better prepare yourself for tons of fall layouts, cards and other projects coming your way from my posts for Just Nick.

As you probably already know, us girls were challenged to use at least 3 cut files for out page this week. I managed to use not only 3 but 7 different files. But to be fair - I combined most of them into my selfmade title! I loved the look of the title I made for my Lucky Stars layout - which you can find HERE - and decided to make a title again.

Here is the page I made.

I searched Pinterest for fall quotes and found this one I really liked - Autumn comes with wind & gold - perfect match for my picture of gold fall leaves.

I used two Alphabets to build my title - Simple Set Alphabet and Script Alpha 2 - and started my building my quote. After that was done it was missing some bits and so I pulled one leaf from Leaves 2, the solid stem from Stems and the outline of one leaf from Leaf it to me and added those into the mix. Just weld it all together and you are good to go.

For this layout the new fall collection Warm and Cozy from Jen Hedfield and Pebbles is perfect! I cut my title out of one of the woodgrain papers and Autumn Ring from a different  white woodgrain paper.

Autumn Ring may be one of my new favorite cut files for fall themed layouts - I used a patterned paper behind it and to soften the look of it, added a sheet of vellum on top.

I also cut a few extra stems from Stems and Stems 2 as accents and added those around my page - and easy as that my cut file work was done!

Here are a few close-up shots:

Thank you so much for checking out the layout - I truly hope you like it!

Onto the next time -

Laureen

Happy May 10, 2016 07:00

Hi everyone!

It's Tarrah back with you and today I am sharing a new layout with you using the brand new and amazing Bits and Pieces Heart Background! This cut file would have to be one of my all time favourites from the awesome range of Just Nick cut files!

The Bits and Pieces Heart cut file is so effective no matter how you choose to use it, whether you choose to back each individual piece with different patterned papers or you could back it with the one patterned paper like I have done!

I used one of the busy patterned papers from the Pinkfresh Studio 'Up in the Clouds' collection to back the heart with. I love how the busy paper is broken up with the different size pieces from the heart cut file.

I added lots of extra Pinkfresh Studio goodies to this layout also including some of those awesome acetate words from the Life Noted collection and the rubber charms also from the Life Noted collection! I machine stitched through the acetate words to help hold them to the page!

Thanks so much for joining me on the Just Nick blog today! Check out the Just Nick store for loads new cut files Nicole has just uploaded plus all your favourites already in store too!

Happy cutting and creating!
