Hi there!  Happy New Year to you all!

Nathalie with you today to share  a new project all about my focus for 2020. Every year i have chosen a word (sort of my OLW) to keep me focused through the year.  After lots of thinking and some bible reading, the word "Gather" kept calling my soul.  So 2020 is the year for gathering moments, people, memories, adventure and no regrets.  To make it visible all i had to do was check some of this week's new JustNick Cut files to create a new layout all about my vision for the year.

 

 

I started this page adding a bit of mixed media to the background.  I chose colors of distress Oxide inks that will match the colors of the Maggie Holmes Heritage collection, and used a brush to applied them to the background.  A bit of water splattering created the bleached effect on the color.

 

 

 

While the background dried, i welded two of the Floral Link Lace cut file images together to form a strip  -using my Silhouette software- and sent it to cut from white cardstock.

 

 

I chose to glue the die cut strip at an angle on the page, i love the soft movement it adds to the page, and allowed me to easily create my visual triangle with embellishment clusters -all from the collection -.

 

 

 

 

To create the title of the page, i used the new Script Alpha 2 cut file to weld together the word "gather", and the pulled the   word "memories" from the Merry Wishes cut file; these words were cut three times from white cardstock.  I glued the die cuts together, then added a light coat of gold watercolor to the top layer.

 

I love the muted color palette of the page, and how the soft background makes the delicate cut file stand out.   The soft shine on the title bring enough color to the page. All in all, I  love this page , its softness and message.

Hi there!

Nathalie with you today in time to celebrate Thanksgiving with our American friends.  This time of the year always bring lots of reflection, love and gratitude, and what better way to documenting than to create a scrapbook layout using some of the JustNick Studio cut files.

 

 

 

Our biggest blessing are our kids.  So i wanted to make them the highlight of this page.  I started by creating the background with a bit of handstitching and using the Compressed Chevron background as a stitching guide.

 

 

 

I chose embroidery floss that will match the colors in the Maggie Holmes Heritage collection for the background, and watched a few Christmas movies while i finished detailing the lines.

 

 

 

I set the picture in place and added embellishments to create the clusters on the page.   I then used the Card Sentiments 3 cut file to  cut the "thankful"  from a piece of Vicki Boutin Foundation paper and then added a bit of shine by coloring it with Gold Glaze.

 

 

The title was attached with a bit of foam adhesive to the page, and then all was left to do was add some journal lines and embellishments to complete this page.
