JustNick Cut File Store

BESTIES by Sophie Delorme September 23, 2020 07:00

Hello everyone and happy fall !

It's Sophie here and I am sharing a beautiful autumnal layout about my little girl and our dog.

The assignment today was to create a page using a cut file like a stencil. When I saw the gorgeous Mandalla 3 that just arrived in the store, I NEW I had to use it in some way !!!

I cut it on white cardstock, put it on water-colour paper and applied white textured paste delicately on it with a palette knife. I removed the cut file and let my background dry completely before adding water-colours that matched my color scheme. I used the beautiful "Forever Fall" collection from Simple Stories.

I placed my photo on the right lower corner of my layout, to really make the mandala stand out from the page. I layered tissue paper, adhesive foam and a few patterned papers behind it.

I embellished around my photo with stickers and fussy cut flowers from the same Simple Stories collection. I also teared a strip of patterned paper for the bottom edge of the page.

I used a Simple Stories foam sticker for my title, and adhered it so that it starts right in the centre of the beautiful mandala.

I handwrote my journaling directly on the background and added plenty of blue, white and pink Nuvo Cristal Drops as the finishing touch.

Oh how I like the end-result ! This Mandalla cut file is just fabulous !!! Using cut files like a stencil is another beautiful way to get creative and it gives a completely different look to them !

I hope you felt inspired to use this Mandalla cut file and get your creativity going !

Until next time,
