Sweet Bloom | Sophie Delorme May 28, 2021 07:00

Hey JustNick friends!

It’s Sophie here with a new layout to share!

I used the beautiful Butterfly Border cut file for my page.

I cut it on white textured cardstock with my cutting machine. I separated it in two parts; the top three butterflies are attached together as well as the bottom two.

I used a beautiful Mintay Paper collection named “Beauty in Bloom” on this page. I backed each butterfly with papers from this collection.

I traced a smaller butterfly by hand on velum, cut it and placed it on each cut file butterfly. It adds dimension in a very soft way. I also hand stitched on the body of each butterfly and created a little embroidery floss bow.

For my background, I added a few touches of pastel watercolors.

I created my title with some Pinkfresh Studio alphabet dies.

I embellished around my photo with flowers cut out of a few patterned papers and handwrote my journaling on a journaling card.

Here are more close-ups:

What a soft and delicate page! This cut file is so perfect! It looks like the butterflies are flying away!

I hope you felt inspire today! Thank you for stopping by!

Forever Happy | Winter Florals | Sophie Delorme February 15, 2021 07:00

Hello all !

It’s Sophie here and I have another layout to share !

This time I used the gorgeous Winter Florals cut file that was just released in January !

I created a page with a photo of my sweet daughter outside in the snow, and the Mintay collection “Winterland” was just perfect for that.

I used a woodgrain paper for my background and thought that cutting the cut file on white cardstock would stand out really well. I cut the woodgrain paper 10 x 12 inches to leave a space on the left of the page to add a blue paper strip and white cardstock.

I cut the Winter Florals a few times in different sizes with my cutting machine and left them completely white. No colouring, and no backing with patterned paper. Instead, I created a huge floral and leaves cluster on the bottom right corner of my photo. I made sure to adhere only the base of the cut files so that the leaves would be free of movement. It adds a lot of dimension to the page.

I added fussy cut leaves, winter flowers and poinsettias to that cluster, many of them with adhesive foam, and I love the overall result !

I splattered droplets of white acrylic paint to the background to mimic snow. My title is a combination of Pink Paislee stickers and exclusive foam stickers from Hip Kit Club.

Finally, I used a beautiful frame cut out of patterned paper from the same Mintay collection and used it to hand write my journaling, and decorated it with a lovely fussy cut bird.

I love the winter feel to that page ! Using cut files like this really doesn’t have to be complicated ! I didn’t alter them at all, just used them as they are ! But it really gives to the layout that little extra special addition that makes it a piece of art !

I hope you were inspired by this cut file and my page today !

I’ll see you soon !
