Let's Celebrate Mothers - Cathy Martin May 12, 2018 07:00
While I find it easy to take selfies, I find it can be a bit trickier to get a good picture of me with one of my little rugrats, so when I do get a chance I take what I can get! As much as I love documenting my children's moments, as well as my own, it always makes me smile when I can scrap a picture with us together. I want them to remember me, and it's important for us moms to sometimes get out from behind the camera and get in those pictures too!
For my layout I decided to cut out the Funky Floral Background cut file. I cut it out of white cardstock because I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted to do with it, but after it was all cut out I decided to use it as a stencil. This is another favorite technique and since I cut it with white paper I can still use the cut file on another layout! I sprayed over it with several different color mists, creating a bit of a rainbow effect. I'm not much of a rainbow girl, but I was soooooo happy with the end result. In order to showcase as much of the background as possible I used a large acetate sheet as my title so that you can still see behind it! For having no ideas when I started I am thrilled with the result!
Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look-see today!
Happiness is being a Mom | Jaclyn Rench May 10, 2018 07:00
Hello Just Nick friends! It's Jaclyn on the blog today to share a Mother's Day themed page in celebration of the 'Mom' theme this week.
My kid's preschool puts on the sweetest Mother's Day Tea program each year, and it's one of my very favorite activities from the school year. I had not yet scrapped the pictures of the first time my daughter and I participated in this event, so this was as good a reason as any!
I used the pretty floral accented Mom cut design to begin building my page.
I cut the design from a shiny, metallic rose gold paper to really make it the focus of the page. I pulled patterned papers, in colors that coordinated with my floral background, to back the design for an added pop! Small adhesive pearls were just the right touch, to finish off the centers of the flowers that are tucked among the word Mom.
I just happened to have the perfect rose gold letter stickers in my stash, allowing me to build out and complete the remainder of my title. Here's another look at the shine and shimmer this diecut element brings to the page.
I finished off framing out my photo with layers and feminine details, to round out the design. But the star of the page is most certainly that gorgeous cut file!
Thanks for joining me on the blog. I hope you've been gathering lots of inspiration this week, to document your own upcoming Mother's Day stories and memories!

My Greatest Blessings Call Me Mom | Marcia Dehn-Nix May 9, 2018 07:00
Hello JustNick Studio friends!
Marcia here today with a layout about my three greatest blessings. The most important and rewarding job I have is being a Mom to my kids. Let me tell you though, it hasn't been easy! I sometimes wish they were little again. Patching up skinned knees is way easier than helping patch a broken heart ... or sitting by a hospital bedside after a car accident. But love binds us together and I know I can get through anything with my kids by my side. So to celebrate Mom's week at JustNick Studios, I decided to scrap a recent photo of my kids with me from a recent camping trip at our favorite spot, Itasca.
I used the Mom digital cut file for the 'MOM' part of my title and alpha stickers for the rest. I love the little flowers and sprigs of leaves welded to the letters. It suits my outdoor photo. I backed the flowers with some pattern paper and then added some enamel dots for dimension.
I created clusters of embellishments on both sides of my photo. To reinforce the outdoor theme I cut some stems from the Stems 4 digital cut file to add to those clusters.
Here are the digital cut files I used today ...
Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great week and for you Mom's, I hope your Mother's Day is fabulous.
Thankful for Mom | Morgan Langley May 6, 2018 07:00
Hey crafty friends! Today I am sharing a post for mom's week on the Just Nick blog using the "floral frames" cut file!
I love ALL the beautiful floral cut feels in the shop and all of them make great spring layouts! I started by cutting my frames and backing them with patterned papers from the "Turn the Page" collection. I love how much color this adds. I also watercolored my plain white background before adhering the frames with the packaging technique and some splatters! I tried to match the paint to colors in the collection!
Mom You Are Loved May 24, 2017 07:00
Hello Just Nick fans! It's Lee-Anne here today and since Mother's Day was a little over a week ago, I had my mom on my mind and thought I would create a special layout to honor her.
I really put my love into this layout and thought about what my mom really loves which are flowers and the color purple.
I cut the Floral Ring 2 cut file out on white card stock with my electronic die cutting machine and hand stitched with several colors of embroidery floss around the flowers, leaves and ring. When the hand stitching was completed, I watercolored the flowers, leaves and ring and then backed it on a piece of white card stock that I used the same colors of watercolors and the packaging technique to give it more color and an artsy feel to the page.
The title was created with the Mom cut file that I cut out on patterned paper with my electronic cutting machine and then I popped it up with some very thin strips of foam adhesive tape that I cut with some scissors and stuck it down onto a white piece of card stock that I trimmed a little larger than the title and finished it off with some black mini alpha stickers that I machine stitched to keep them secure.
Here are the two cut files I created this layout with:
I really don't think photos do this layout justice. It looks so much better in person.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out the Just Nick shop for these and many more cut files. Happy scrapping!
I love being your Mom | Donna Espiritu May 23, 2017 12:01
Hello, Just Nick readers!
It's Donna here and I am sharing my second layout for the month.
I used several cut files in this layout. I love layering them to create texture and dimension
I used the Kaisercraft resist paper (which is included in the May kit "Sorbet" by Clique Kit to cut the Floral Swag cut file. You can see it here peeking at the bottom of the stacked photos
And then I tucked here in there the Mini Floral Buds cut file. I kept them white instead of adding color
I used a pink ombre paper to back the cut file MOM and adhered it with foam tape to add a bit of height.
I hope you liked my layout today!
