Adorable Keychains! | Morgan Langley June 26, 2018 07:00

Hey crafty friends! Today I am using the cut files a little bit different and incorporating these wooden beads I found at the Dollar Store to make these adorable keychains or charms or a mini album or scrapbook!

I used the cut files "Spring Doodle Flowers", "Cactus Jack", and some extra hearts from "Hearts 2" that I used in my last mini album project.

I tied a knot at the end of my embroidery floss, strung my beads, decorated my 1 1/2 end circle with the cut files, paper punched holes in the bottom and top of the circle to string it onto the floss, and then tied on the keychain loop or mini binder ring!

Accordion Mini Album! | Morgan Langley June 09, 2018 07:00

Friendship | Morgan Langley May 22, 2018 07:00

Hey guys! Today I am sharing a layout that is a little different for me! I love watercoloring, but I usually keep it simple with a few splatters here and there. For this one though I cut the different stems from "Stems 2,4, and 5" (three cut files) and water colored away! I did a rainbow of coloring and mixed shades and amounts of water to get the look I wanted. While the paint was still wet I did splatters of darker/lighter colors or just water drips to make the paint spread. I love the way it turned out and it was SO fun and care free!

I added super minimal embellishments with some corresponding sequins, flowers, little birds, ladybugs, snails, etc. Then I used mixed letter stickers to create my title!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Pick up these unique stem cut files yourself and see what you can create! It's always fun to try something new!

Thankful for Mom | Morgan Langley May 06, 2018 07:00

Hey crafty friends! Today I am sharing a post for mom's week on the Just Nick blog using the "floral frames" cut file!

I love ALL the beautiful floral cut feels in the shop and all of them make great spring layouts! I started by cutting my frames and backing them with patterned papers from the "Turn the Page" collection. I love how much color this adds. I also watercolored my plain white background before adhering the frames with the packaging technique and some splatters! I tried to match the paint to colors in the collection!

Then for some embossing! I stamped some additional florals and leaves into my frames and embossed with gold glittery powder! I also embossed the "love you" and "thankful for you" sentiments and I love how this turned out!
I fussy cut and added some additional flowers, butterflies, and adorable coffee and tea cups around my floral frame and stuck in a picture of my mom and I now, and when I was little. I created a kind of bottom and top border by using the branding strips of the 6x6 pad and then adding multiple word sentiment stickers.
Thank you for stopping by! Stop by the shop to pick out your own floral cut files and create something for your mom this coming mother's day!

Rainbows! | Morgan Langley April 15, 2018 07:00

Hey guys! So excited to be sharing a happy spring layout today using the title "Rainbows" and the rainbow from the "Hooray for Spring" cut file!
First I stitched, stitched, stitched! I cut my rainbow and title on the same paper and backed them with different pieces of the same piece of multi colored paper! The stripes in the paper were vertical, while a normal rainbow is horizontal so I thought that was a neat touch! Then I found coordinating colored thread for each color in the paper and stitched the layers of the rainbow going from pink to blue! I stitched the title in all white because I already had so much color on the page!
Then brads, brads, brads! I don't use brads a lot, but I picked out all the color coordinating regular circle and flower brads I had and put them on my layout going up from the blues to the pinks this time. I added some felt leaves and flowers to a couple of the brads to spin. In the title, where there would usually be a cut out in the letter I added speciality brads.
I wrote my journalling in one arch of the rainbow and added three little pictures of our pet bunny Clover and I! I love how this fun spring layout turned out! Make sure to go to the Just Nick store to pick up this cut file pack for yourself to create your own rainbow background!

Stitched Clouds | Morgan Langley March 21, 2018 07:00

Hey guys! Today I am sharing a layout I created using the "Cloudy Day" cut file!

First I cut my file on card stock, adhered it, backed it with pattern paper from Maggie Holmes "Carousel" collection and then stitched around the clouds! Hand stitching is time consuming, but I love the look it creates!

Then to embellish! I used stickers and pieces from the same collection and added some sequins and buttons. I liked how the kites in this collection coordinating with the airy clouds!

Thank you for stopping by and check out the store for some new spring cut files for all your scrappy projects!

Heart is Full | Morgan Langley February 15, 2018 07:00

Hey crafty friends! I am excited to be sharing another LOVE post this week! I used the beautiful "Heart is Full Background" cut file to create this fun and simple layout of my sister, Violet, and I!
I cut the file first from pink card stock and then made a circle a little big larger than the file on my Silhouette to create the white circle to make the file stand out against this cute patterned paper from the "Turn the Page" collection. Then on to embellishing!
I used the "Turn the Page" ephemera pack as well as the 12x12 paper pad to cut out those adorable flowers and butterflies. I stitched through the middle of some of the butterflies for added texture. I also added puffy hearts as well as a bow, camera, and hot air balloon sticker from the "Carousel" collection.
I created my title using the thinkers and puffy sticker "happy" also from the "Carousel" collection with the ampersand piece from "Turn the Page". I loved this mixing of alphas.

Starburst Layout! | Morgan Langley January 23, 2018 07:00

Hey crafty friends! Today I am sharing a fun layout I created using the "starburst" cut file and a sparkler picture I had from New Years!

I turned the cut file vertical and backed it with papers from Pink Pasilee's "Turn the Page". It was easiest to use the white stars that the cameo cut out as templates for backing, cutting them a little larger and then gluing them behind. I added ephemera from the collection, splatter paints, sequins, and fussy cut stars from the 12x12 pad and the 6x6 pad.

I love these positive speech bubbles from the 6x6 pad and thought they went perfect for this New Year's spread!

Thank you so much for stopping by and make sure to check out this fun cut file on the Just Nick Studios page! Follow me on instagram @morewithmorganl for more layouts!

Photo Embroidery Hoop! | Morgan Langley December 19, 2017 07:00

Hey crafty friends! Today I am showing a project that is perfect if you need a thoughtful handmade gift to give for Christmas! I used the "Snowflakes 2" and "Holiday Tags" cut files!

To start I got my embroidery hoop ($.97), fabric ($1), elastic ($1), and felt sheets ($.23) at Walmart. Then I opened and loosened my hoop, laid the elastic across where I wanted it and then placed the fabric on. I closed my hoop and pulled the fabric and elastic tight. Then, print your pictures!
These felt flowers are my favorite part and they are super easy to make! First start with the middle part of the flower cutting a strip and then cutting strips all the way down.
Then fold it into a circle and add some hot glue. Then add your petals! Depending on how large you want your flower is how long to make the middle of the flower and how big you cut your petals!
Then add layers of petals to make it look more full!
For the leaves I cut the shape and then add some hot glue to the tip and fold it.
I also add little felt roll ups, (buds maybe?) to add texture. You just cut a strip that tapers a little and then roll and glue!
I cut my snowflakes from white and blue card stock and they really helped to fill in the extra space tucking then between the elastic and under the photos.
I added the joy tag layered with a patterned paper circle and a felt circle connected with bakers twine. I also tied a red bow to the top of my hoop and glued a button where the elastic pieces met. I added pom pom ribbon along the hoop for added fun!
Thank you for stopping by today! There are so many ways to use these beautiful cut files and so many projects to create with these felt flowers! Merry Christmas and happy crafting! Follow me on instagram @morewithmorganl and follow Just Nick @justnickstudio

This cut file was SO fun to use! I cut the tags different sizes using a mix of kraft, white, and patterned card stock. Then I backed the cut outs with another scrap of paper and was ready to add some stitching accents!

On some of the tags I used a ruler to mark straight, different sized lines with a pencil and then stitched them, some I stitched around the image, others I stitched snowflakes, and a couple I did some french knot stitches!

I put thread or bakers twine through the hole of each tag and put adhesive so they would stay in position on my layout!

For my background I just sewed on some scraps of Christmas paper with my sewing machine using a mix of white and red threads. I added my photo and some wood snowflakes and Christmas trees and then the layout was complete!

Colorful Watercolor Polygon! | Morgan Langley November 16, 2017 07:00

Hey crafty friends! Today I am sharing a colorful layout I created using the "Shattered Polygon" cut file! This cut file can be used in so many different ways so it is perfect!
I cut the file from a piece of paper from the "Oh my Heart" Pink Paislee collection and backed it onto a piece of white card stock. Then I used the negatives from the file and cut pieces of paper paper to fill in the polygon.
I wanted to make my background to be fun, so I extended some of the sections into the background by choosing a coordinating color and water coloring an extension of that section going off the page. Once it dried, I went in with that same color and did some splatters for added texture. On the sections I didn't water color in, I added splatters with the coordinating color.
To add even more texture I used some light blue vellum, cut three of the different shapes inside the cut file, added in seed beads and sequins, and then sewed it onto the layout.
I also added some stamping onto different sections of the polygon. I did some different fonts of ampersands, little V's for Violet's name, numbers, and some flowers.
I love how this layout turned out and how colorful it is! Make sure to follow Just Nick and myself @morewithmorganl on Instagram for more crafty posts! Thank you for stopping by!

Sights of Fall! | Morgan Langley November 01, 2017 07:00

Hey guys it's Morgan here! Today I am sharing a fun fall layout I made! November has started and it is getting chilly! I used a photo from my homecoming this year and I used the sunflower and pumpkin from the "Sights of Fall" cut file!
This cut file is SO fun and fall! I used those adorable leaves on the last layout I created and they are so versatile!
For my pumpkin I used a Michaels hot buy paper pad with neutrals and wood grain to back my cut file. Then I added some neutral buttons for texture. I also fussy cut the pink, red, and rose gold flowers from Pink Pasilee "Oh my Heart" collection and added them around the layout since they matched our dresses in the picture!
I added some splatter paint to the background using yellow, orange, and red watercolors! I like adding a little something to plain white backgrounds and it is a super easy technique!
Thank you so much for stoping by! Make sure to follow Just Nick on Instagram and me @morewithmorganl for lots of scrappy posts!

Going in Circles | Morgan Langley October 17, 2017 07:00

Hello Fall! | Morgan Langley October 02, 2017 07:00

Hello crafty friends, Morgan here! I can not believe it is already October! For my layout today I used the "Bare Tree" cut file and made the tree not so bare by using the leaves included in the file and adding them onto my tree!

For my background I added some light pink, yellow, and orange watercolor splatters and cut my leaves from different colored card stock. Some of the leaves have more intricate pieces so I used the "double cut" feature on my Silhouette Cameo to get clean lines. Then I backed them onto white card stock to make them thicker and more durable for stitching. I stitched around them using corresponding thread colors. I love what paper embroidery adds to the layout!

For my photo cluster I used various Dear Lizzy ephemera and some of the cut file leaves that I hadn't yet stitched behind my photo. I also added in some floral pieces I had and a cute flair button with a wood grain background. I love how cute that little bunny piece is and thought it went in nicely!

Thank you for reading! Make sure to check out Just Nick on Instagram to see more fun posts using the fall cut files and follow me on Instagram @morewithmorganl for all my crafty updates! Also make sure to go to the Just Nick store to get some of these beautiful files!

Summer Circle Background Layout! | Morgan Langley July 18, 2017 07:00

Hello friends! It is Morgan here and I am excited to be sharing my layout I created using the "In the deep end background". This file was so easy and fun to work with!

I cut the file on white card stock first and then taking papers from the 6x6 "Oh My Heart" collection I cut small pieces to fit into the squares around each circle as well as the middle piece. I grouped all the pink patterns together, all the greens together, etc. Then I laid out the file on my page and marked where each colored circle was for my splatter paint. I matched the splatter paint with the color of circle that would be on top.

Next I fussy cut the larger flowers from the 12x12 "Oh my Heart" paper pad and layered them behind the circles still matching the colors. I added smaller flowers with bunched thread and sequins into the center of some of the smaller circles.

I cut three photos into circles to fit inside the cut file and love how they flow into the layout. I used my type writer for my journaling about this summer day at my grandparents house in Ohio.

Thank you for reading about my crafty process! I hope you try and incorporate this file into one of your own beautiful creations!

Best Day Ever | Morgan Langley July 04, 2017 07:00

Hello crafty friends! My name is Morgan and I am so excited to be sharing my first layout I created for Just Nick!

For my layout I used the "Graphic Chevron Background" first as a guideline for my paper embroidery. Rather than cutting the file I used a grey Silhouette Sketch pen on white card stock.

After sketching the cut file, I poked my holes and starting stitching with shades of blue and pink thread. For the larger sections not filled with lines, I stitched around the outside and then added pieces of scrap paper I had from the Crate Paper Oasis collection. I also used the branding strips of the 6x6 Oasis pad to machine stitch around the outer edges of the layout.

For my title I used the "Best Day Ever" cut file, cutting it on hot pink cardstock and then cutting three pictures from my family vacation to Mexico to fit into the word DAY.

I also typed my title with my typewriter on white paper and added it in the center of the layout under the A. I stamped my date in the right hand corner by stamping the year and then layering the date again using a roller stamp. I love this technique for really making the date stand out.

Clustered around "DAY" are palm branches from the cut file "Take me to Paradise". I love these leaves and use them on almost every summery project I make! I also clustered some word stickers, sequins, puffy stickers, and embellishments.

I splatter painted my background with light and dark pink watercolors, added sequins, and I love how it turned out! Thank you so much for reading about my crafty process and I hope you will try and make your own projects using these beautiful cut files!
