Globe Trotter | Vicki Parker August 13, 2019 07:00

Hi everyone, it's Vicki here today sharing my latest layout with a travel theme.

I had some of the Carta Bella Let's Travel collection and knew it would be perfect for my layout using the fabulous Around the World cut files. I only used two of the tags, the globe and the geo tag, but there is lots of choice here.

I started by enlarging the globe to the full size of a piece of white cardstock and once cut, I chain stitched around the entire shape with blue thread. Now, this did take quite a bit of time, but I really think it was worth it!

I stuck it on an angle onto a piece of PinkFresh Just a Little Lovely paper which has a stunning watercolour effect and really makes the globe pop! With the tags I cut also on PinkFresh paper, I backed the words with white cardstock and outlined them in black fineliner pen.

I also outlined the heart on the geo tag and used the cut out heart on the One Canoe Two Saturday Afternoon camera.

The rest of the layout was put together with chipboard elements from Carta Bella and a perfect acrylic title from Bramble Fox.

Thank you so much for looking - I hope it gives you some inspiration on using the Around the World cut file. I will be back later in the month with a rainbow theme layout. Until next time....

You're a Peach! Rachel Lowe June 18, 2018 07:00

 Hello Justnick friends!

Today I have a 8.5x11 inch layout with a stunning background cut file.

I LOVE this Quatrefoil Background 2 cut file and it loses none of its effect re sizing it for a 8.5x11 inch layout!

I have used the lovely collection by onecanoetwo Twilight.

I re sized my cut file to 8.3x10.8 inches so I could have a small border of contrasting paper. I backed the cut file onto white card stock to provide a colour contrast.

Now it was time to pretty up my layout. I ensured I used darker coloured embellishments so they stood out against my background.

I created a vase of flowers using die cuts and arranging them as in my photo below. By adding the over sized word Blessed this is a lovely feature that draws the eye.

To frame my photo I have used the large floral cluster rom the die cut pack finished off with the super cute peach sticker.

I have foam taped many of the elements on my page to create some height and dimension to my layout.

I finished my layout off by creating a banner, heart feature which I added some machine stitching to. Finally I added some fussy cut moths from one of the papers and added NUVO drops to the centre of my flowers, on the leaves and peach.

The texture and visual impact a background cut file can create really adds a wow factor to your layout!

Thank you for stopping by and see you again soon.

Happy cutting and creating!

Rachel

Take A Hike - Cathy Martin October 9, 2017 07:00

Hi everyone!  Right now here in Canada it's our Thanksgiving, so it seemed only fitting to do a Fall inspired layout with one of Nicole's amazing Autumnal cut files!  I decided to go with her file Leaf Cluster, which is one of my favorites!!!  I could seriously use this file over and over again and have a different looking layout each time!  I decided to go with some not so traditional fall colours that matched my photos to back my file.  I didn't need to do much in the way of embellishing because the photo and cut file were definitely centre stage!  I am so happy with how sweet this layout turned out, and thank you all so much for stopping by!

Love this life | Laureen Wagener July 31, 2017 07:00

Hi cut file fans -

It's Laureen with you to share a new page made with one of the new files loaded to the store - the beautiful Basic Bloom Background!

Now I can never get enough of floral cut files, especially the beautiful ones Nicole always creates! So of course I had to use one for this page. The tricky part is that when always using florals cut files pages tend to look the same - so I decided to create something a little - only a little - different.

Instead of backing the cut file I duplicated it, welded the two pieces together so I would have one long 12 inch pieces and then cut them into a square at the top and the two sides to make them fit perfectly into the top space of my paper and make it look like a flowing flower garland - if you know what I mean ;D

I layered some vellum behind the file to soften up the background paper and to make the cut file stand out and then all I did for embellishing was fuzzy cutting bits from different patterned papers ;)

All adhered down and the page was done in a breeze!

Until the next time and happy crafting,

xo Laureen
