PageMaps round up! June 12, 2017 07:00
Did you have a chance to see all the projects our team created for our team up with PageMaps the past few weeks?
I had a chance to play along too and created this page using our File Folders, and Lowe Case Alphas cut files.
Cut files don't have to overtake your project. Yes, they can be the total focus of your page, but I wanted to use some cut files in a more minimal way on my project. I cut the file folders from a 6x6 paper pad and layered them behind my photo.
It adds a paper layer but with a little fun too right! I also added some co-ordinating paper strips around the edge of my page, I could have cut some stars on my digi machine, but went with glittery pre-made ones instead.
I finished the page off with the Lower Case Alphas cut file for my title on a quick diecut word bubble.
If you haven't already, check out the June PageMaps for all the sketches and takes our team did with them!

Happy Girl, Happy Heart - Page Maps Team Up June 07, 2017 06:00
Hey everyone!!! It's Cathy here and I'm back from my trip and I'm ready to scrap! The thing about taking a long scrappy break though, is that sometimes even though I'm raring to go I just don't have any ideas coming to mind. Well then in steps Becky Fleck and her June sketches and I'm saved! So I have been really wanting to use some of my older products as well as some of my more vintage looking products, so I thought I would challenge myself with the sketch I was given. My sketch is very modern and simple, a great jumping off point, so I decided to soften it up by replacing one of the middle layers with the Henna Heart cut file! I cut it out in pink and then sprayed it with Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Cherry to get a shiny heart! I had to make a small cut so that I could have it look like it was looping around my middle paper piece. I then took her visual triangle of embellishments and just went to town! I used up lots of older chipboard and stickers and was really happy to make a dent in my stash!
So here is the sketch that I was given!
And here is the cut file that I used for my project!
And here is my finished project!
Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today! xoxo Cat

And here is my take on the sketch:
I had lots of fun creating this layout from the sketch, I loved how I could create a page with several photos and also lots of layering elements with two different cut files from the Just Nick Store. I really wanted to use some of the photo spaces in the sketch as different cut files and to do this I used the Geometric Cards cut file and cut this out on mint cardstock and also on some patterned paper. I also added some of the scalloped borders from the Simple Scalloped Strips cut file to frame the different parts of layout too.
Some close ups:
I had so much fun creating this layout with the PageMaps sketch. I hope I have inspired you today to get creating with some of the Just Nick Cut files and do check back and see more designers working with the PageMaps sketches for the rest of this week!

Hi cut file fans,
it's Laureen here to share a brand new layout with you!
For this week the Just Nick Designers were each given a sketch from PageMaps and were asked to create a layout based on it - here is my sketch:
Isn't it super cool?! I loved the sketch a whole lot with all the circles and different elements. Now when it came to actually creating my page I spend hours over hours scrolling through my Just Nick Cut files to find one I'd like to use and that was the biggest struggle I had! After I finally found one, the page didn't took long at all - here it is:
I used the Going in Circles Background to mimic all the circles from the sketch and am really liking the way it looks!
I cut a piece of patterned paper, stitched down the edges and then placed my cut file on top of that using foam squares for a tiny bit of dimension.
After I had placed that the embellishing was easy peasy - just using some stickers, Thickers and florals from the Shimelle Little by Little Collection.
Now - I hope you feel inspired by the sketch and create something with it, there are so many possibilities. Imagine using a floral ring cut file and cutting that several times and then create your grid - PERFECT!
Happy crafting and have a great day!

Scrappy Pals - PageMaps Inspired Layout March 15, 2016 07:00
If you are a sketch fan and a digital cut file fan then the past few blog posts have been right up your alley! Today I have another layout to share to add to the PageMaps/Just Nick collection seen here recently!
I incorporated the one of the flowers from the Basic Flowers set and the Butterfly Background file into this layout that is based on an 8.5x11 sketch from Becky. You can see the full collection of March sketches HERE; the sketch that this layout is based upon is the second from the bottom.
The butterfly background file I cut from vellum for a subtle effect of the butterflies flitting across the watercolored background. The flower is a soft peachy/pink color that stands out a tad more but is still subtle. I really wanted the picture to be the main focus of the page with the cut files melded into the background.
The main cluster of the page is more prominent and rather "adherent" to the sketch. while the cut files are more of my substitution for the half circles and banners sticking out from the top of the cluster.
Don't forget to use the code PAGEMAPSFREE at the Just Nick store from now until April 30, 2016 to grab any one design of your choice for free! Pair it up with a PageMaps sketch and be sure to share it with us on FaceBook or Instagram!
I Love You - PageMaps March 14, 2016 07:00
Hello! I hope you've been enjoying a closer look at all of the pages the design team has been sharing from the PageMaps team up. It's Jaclyn here today to share the page I made combining a one page PageMaps sketch and two of my favorite Just Nick cut files.
Becky's sketches are some of my favorites! They take the guess work out of where to place the elements on my page, and truly just allow me to have fun with the design, embellishment and story telling. Here's a look at the sketch I was given to work with:
And here's my take:
As you can see, I stuck pretty close to the design. Why mess with a good thing, right?! In the sketch a large block of pattern paper is depicted below the photo arrangement. I knew this would be a nice spot to highlight the Crazy Daisy cut file. I cut the file out of white cardstock and trimmed it down to 4" tall by 6" wide. I used bits of pattern paper and solid cardstock to fill in the empty spaces behind each daisy, for a fun and colorful look.
As I often do, I turned to pinterest for my title. I found a nautical quote that would work well with my page and chose to highlight a portion of the quote to serve as my page title. I cut the 'I Love You' out of navy cardstock using the Outline Alpha cut file. I chose to discard the outline portion of the cut for a more clean and simple design.
Don't forget, from now until April 30, 2016 you can grab any design of your choice in the Just Nick store by using the code PAGEMAPSFREE at checkout. Pair that file with one of the PageMaps sketches and you've got a fun project in the making!

XO Heart Background and PageMaps March 10, 2016 07:00
Hello everyone! Have you see the wonderful sketches this month on the PageMaps site? It is always one of the first stops I make each month when I am looking for sketches to use! The DT got to work with the sketches AND use awesome cut files from the shop!
I followed the sketch pretty closely, using a large swipe of black paint to help balance be design.
I created an interesting embellishment cluster by layering an "X" and an "O" cut out of different papers and a frame to tie it all together. My journaling is a tag that is tucked under this cluster.
This is a unique and different color combo for me! I loved layering these colors and bits from the Urban Luxe Ephemera pack!
Check out the XO Heart Background cut file in the shop HERE:
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out this month's Page Maps!
Chase Your Dreams March 08, 2016 07:00
Melissa here with you today and I'm sharing my page created as part of the team up with Page Maps. I was sent a sketch that had me using three photos. Two were stacked on the left and one was to the right. I chose to use two photos and title card for the other photo spot.
I love using sketches as road maps, especially Page Maps! I've always loved how my projects turn out with Becky's sketches.
Anyway, here is the page I created:
I used two cut files for this page. The first one is a background circle file. I cropped it to make it more narrow. I like the look of the half circles around the edge. I also used the circle with the words 'Just Shine'. I love that sentiment with this page. (Links for cut files are found at bottom of post.)
Here are a few close ups to give more detail of what I did with this clean and simple page...
I hope you have had a chance to see what the team did with the sketches. If not, head over now and view them on the March Page Maps page.
Thanks for swinging by!

Happy 12! March 02, 2016 07:00
Hi everyone. It's Heather and I don't know about you but I love designing with sketches, especially PageMaps sketches. I use them as a general guide to my design as evidenced below.
The sketch called for one large portrait photo, as shown above plus 2 smaller portrait photos above, where you see the tags. The rest of the design follows the sketch fairly close.
I used the Birthday Sentiments cut file and the heart from the exclusive files Nicole created for the Clique Kits team up in February. You can use the Broken Heart cut file to achieve the same effect.
I added layers of papers, ephemera, stickers, banners, etc to give the page a celebratory effect.
Thanks for stopping by today. Come back tomorrow for more great PageMaps inspiration.
