12 Days of Giveaways, Day 4 | Nathalie DeSousa December 5, 2019 07:00 1 Comment

Hi there,
Nathalie with you today bringing Day 4 of the 12 Days of Giveaways!  I am so excited to be part of this JustNick Studio tradition - I hope you all have been checking the blog to collect your free daily cut file download-.  Today's freebie is the ORNAMENT 3 cut file, and you are going to love how fun and versatile it is!

How fun are those ornaments!  I started this page with a bit of mixed media.  I used Vicki Boutin art crayons to bring some of the green of the Christmas tree to the page.

My idea of creating a cascade of ornaments came from the fun selfie.  For this, i cut the ornaments twice from white cardstock and stacked them together to create dimension on each ornament.
To bring the festive feel of the season, i chose papers from the Pink Paislee Together for Christmas and Pebbles Inc. Merry Little Christmas collection to carefully back each of the ornaments, then attached them to the background using foam adhesive.
All that was left to do was embellish the picture with a few stickers and a shiny title.   Just love those ornaments and i think they will be perfect to document some of your December memories.  And you can download a copy of the Ornaments 3 cut file for free just today - Dec. 5th, 2019

Fall details | Stuck?! Sketches Team Up September 19, 2016 07:00 1 Comment

Hi cut file fans,

Laureen here with you today to share my layout created for the Stuck?! Sketches Team up.

If you decide to play along with the Sketch you get a chance to win a $25 gift certificate - who doesn't love that extra money to spend on some great cut files right?!

Here is the awesome sketch Laura created for us -

Now - I am not to good using multiple pictures on one page, and so I only used one larger picture and paper instead of two additional photos. After I finished my page I noticed it looks quite similar to Nicoles one - she was a great inspiration ;)

I used the new Leafy Circle Doily and modified it, so I'd have a wreath to layer my picture and papers into. I also added a tiny circle to the bottom right corner to indicate the circle graphic in the sketch.

For added detail I die- cut branches from Stems and Sweater Weather out of patterned paper and vellum and layered those around the page.

Here are a few close-ups:

Come back tomorrow to see a different take on the Sketch!

Have a great day,

Laureen

Autumn came September 10, 2016 07:00

Hi cut file fans -

it's Laureen here with you today and I have a fall layout.

I don't mind it still being 30 degrees here in Germany - that won't stop me starting the crafting for my favorite season - fall! You better prepare yourself for tons of fall layouts, cards and other projects coming your way from my posts for Just Nick.

As you probably already know, us girls were challenged to use at least 3 cut files for out page this week. I managed to use not only 3 but 7 different files. But to be fair - I combined most of them into my selfmade title! I loved the look of the title I made for my Lucky Stars layout - which you can find HERE - and decided to make a title again.

Here is the page I made.

I searched Pinterest for fall quotes and found this one I really liked - Autumn comes with wind & gold - perfect match for my picture of gold fall leaves.

I used two Alphabets to build my title - Simple Set Alphabet and Script Alpha 2 - and started my building my quote. After that was done it was missing some bits and so I pulled one leaf from Leaves 2, the solid stem from Stems and the outline of one leaf from Leaf it to me and added those into the mix. Just weld it all together and you are good to go.

For this layout the new fall collection Warm and Cozy from Jen Hedfield and Pebbles is perfect! I cut my title out of one of the woodgrain papers and Autumn Ring from a different  white woodgrain paper.

Autumn Ring may be one of my new favorite cut files for fall themed layouts - I used a patterned paper behind it and to soften the look of it, added a sheet of vellum on top.

I also cut a few extra stems from Stems and Stems 2 as accents and added those around my page - and easy as that my cut file work was done!

Here are a few close-up shots:

Thank you so much for checking out the layout - I truly hope you like it!

Onto the next time -

Laureen
