Adorable Keychains! | Morgan Langley June 26, 2018 07:00

Hey crafty friends! Today I am using the cut files a little bit different and incorporating these wooden beads I found at the Dollar Store to make these adorable keychains or charms or a mini album or scrapbook!

I used the cut files "Spring Doodle Flowers", "Cactus Jack", and some extra hearts from "Hearts 2" that I used in my last mini album project.

I tied a knot at the end of my embroidery floss, strung my beads, decorated my 1 1/2 end circle with the cut files, paper punched holes in the bottom and top of the circle to string it onto the floss, and then tied on the keychain loop or mini binder ring!

You Wonderful Thing - Cathy Martin June 16, 2018 07:00

Hi everyone!  It's June, can you believe it?  I know some kids are already out of school, but here we still have a little ways to go, but that doesn't mean I can't break out all the fun summer colors for a layout!  For this one I decided to use the Love Background file.  I cut it from a phrase patterned paper and then backed the hearts with various patterns.  I also put some yellow ink on my background to make my cut file pop!  I grabbed a ton of different washi tapes and created a border for my layout that helped ground the layout but also give it a ton of pop and pattern!  There was already so much going on that I didn't have to do much in the way of embellishing.  I love the little metal "love" paper clip tucked into the cut file as well.  Just a little extra something to add a fun element!  Thanks so much for stopping by, and have an awesome day!

Happy Girl - Cathy Martin May 25, 2018 08:13

Hi everyone, it's Cathy here and I'm back with another layout!  So on my last blog post I used the Funky Floral Background and I cut it out of white card stock and created a stencil with it.  Now since I used white card stock I didn't want to throw away the floral background, so I kept it, and this week I'm using it as my background file for my layout!

Since it was already sprayed in a rainbow of fun shimmery colors I didn't have too much work to do.  I simply popped it up on foam and picked a funky watercolor inspired striped background.  Since my last layout featured my daughter and I, I used a photo of my husband and daughter this time.  I like the juxtaposition of using the same cut file twice to create layouts with different main subjects.   Of course since there were so many bright fun colors being used it was easy to embellish the layout, and I had no issue using whatever icons I wanted!

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look, and I hope I've inspired your creativity.  As always, have an awesome day!

Let's Celebrate Mothers - Cathy Martin May 12, 2018 07:00

While I find it easy to take selfies, I find it can be a bit trickier to get a good picture of me with one of my little rugrats, so when I do get a chance I take what I can get!  As much as I love documenting my children's moments, as well as my own, it always makes me smile when I can scrap a picture with us together.  I want them to remember me, and it's important for us moms to sometimes get out from behind the camera and get in those pictures too!

For my layout I decided to cut out the Funky Floral Background cut file.  I cut it out of white cardstock because I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted to do with it, but after it was all cut out I decided to use it as a stencil.  This is another favorite technique and since I cut it with white paper I can still use the cut file on another layout!  I sprayed over it with several different color mists, creating a bit of a rainbow effect.  I'm not much of a rainbow girl, but I was soooooo happy with the end result.  In order to showcase as much of the background as possible I used a large acetate sheet as my title so that you can still see behind it!  For having no ideas when I started I am thrilled with the result!

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look-see today!

2 Girls & 2 Trikes | Cathy Martin April 28, 2018 08:00

Hi everyone!  I'm excited to be back with another layout for JustNick and this layout is very special to me because it's the first one I have done using pictures from my childhood of my sister and I.  The picture isn't very good quality, since it's a scan from an original photo from the 80's.  Now because the picture isn't the best quality, I had to keep it small, so I needed a big, fun, bold background to take up the rest of the space!  I ended up choosing the Sunburst Circle background cut file, because it reminded me of bicycle tires.  Since the picture was so vintage I decided to go full on vintage with my paper choices and embellishments.  I absolutely adore the final layout, and I hope you like it too!  Thank you so much for stopping by!

Happy Birthday | Jen McMurtrey April 05, 2018 07:00

Hello JustNick friends!

It's all about celebrations on the blog this week, so naturally I had to create a birthday-themed layout!

For this project I used the Banner Essentials and Let's Party cut files with the Pink Paislee Confetti Wishes collection.

I began by using the pink patterned paper and splattering gold, black, and white paint on it.

While the paint was drying, I used the Let's Party file to create the clusters of balloons in various sizes. Each of the balloons was backed with patterned paper from Confetti Wishes. Additionally, I used the numbers from Banner Essentials to cut 1-5, which I welded prior to cutting. I enlarged the number three and cut it out using patterned paper to make it more prominent.

Because there are so many patterns and colors on the layout, I stuck with a black and white photo so it wouldn't clash.

I clustered several die cuts and chipboard embellishments around the photo for added color and dimension.

Last was the gold Thickers title with gold circles and hearts throughout the project.

In the bottom-right corner I added Abby's initials and the date followed by a doodled border around the layout.

The finished layout is bright and cheery and captures the fun we had that day.

Thank you for visiting today and I hope you are inspired to create. Be sure to visit the JustNick store for these and many other wonderful designs!!

Hoppy Easter - Cathy Martin March 28, 2018 08:00

Hey everyone!  March is winding down and with Easter only a few days away I thought I would share a hoppy layout with you.  Whenever I make a layout about Easter I always think of fun colours and florals, so I really wanted to incorporate lots of fun patterns in my page.  I used the Half Shell Background 2 and cut it out of white cardstock.  It just screamed EGGS to me!  I'm not even sure if the cut file is supposed to be eggs, but I thought it was a perfect fit, and it had lots of spaces for me to back with lovely papers.  I used a combination of papers and products from Paige Evans Turn the Page as well as lots of stuff from my stash.

You Make My Heart Smile - Cathy Martin February 25, 2018 07:00

Hey all, it's Cathy and I'm back with another layout to share with you!  This time I decided to use a cut file as a mask and use some spray mist to spray over it.  This isn't really a new or different technique, but it's one that I've used several times before and I love the end results.

So for my layout I used the You Make My Heart Smile cut file.  This file actually comes with several different phrases and I cut 3 of them out, though I only used 2 for my page, but I just tucked the other one aside for another time!  I used a spare piece of cardstock that I had laying around, since I wasn't worried about keeping the file after I had sprayed it, though you could cut if from white cardstock and then keep the altered file for another project, kind of a two for one deal!

Since my spray title took up one side of my layout I used a bunch of patterned paper strips to fill the other side.  I dug into my stash and scraps and used up some older papers that I had been wanting to use for a while.  This was a great way to really use up lots of papers that are just laying around. I didn't need much in the way of embellishments since the title and papers were already so bold!

Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a look, and don't forget to check out the shop for lots of amazing designs!

Tug At My Heart - Cat Martin February 16, 2018 15:45

It's a week of love here on the JustNick blog, and I'm definitely feeling it!  I really wanted to use some older products along with some new products to finally scrap some photos that I have been setting aside for quite awhile!  I used the very cute Heart Strings background cut file, as it was the perfect one for tucking photos in!

I didn't cut it very large, because I wanted to have some room for embellishments, but since I cut it out of navy blue paper it still stands out, and it matches well with the Main Squeeze collection from Crate Paper!  I love how this layout turned out.  It's a Valentines Day layout that is slightly different than usual layouts!

Thank you so much for stopping by, and have an awesome day!

Love Love Love - Cathy Martin January 12, 2018 07:00

Hey everyone!!!  It's my first layout and blog post for 2018 for JustNick!  I swear, she's going to have to kick me to the curb to get me to leave!  Where I live, it's cold, the wind hurts my face, and there is slush and snow everywhere, so I decided I needed to channel a little sunshine into my page!

I used the Loads of Love cut file, and I cut it out of a pinky-peach ombre paper.  I was originally going to cut it out of white cardstock, but decided to use up some of the neglected  solid papers in my stash.  At this point I had no clue where I was going with it, only that I knew I wanted to put a picture in the largest O.  I used a SnapChat pic of my daughter and I, since I needed a small one, and the quality of the photo wasn't the greatest, so it was better to keep it small.  I then chose various fun patterned papers from my paper scraps stash.  I always love stash busting with Nicole's cut files!

I wasn't sure what background paper to use, but in the end I couldn't resist using the bright and friendly clouds!  My daughter also helped influence my background paper choice.  I only did a minimal amount of embellishing, since the page was already brimming with fun!  I am so happy with how seriously cute this page turned out!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and have an awesome day!

Let it Snow - Cathy Martin December 27, 2017 07:00

Hey everybody!  It's Cathy here and I'm back with a layout inspired by a winter scene.  I used the Frosted Windowpane cut file and created a layout about the lovely calmness of a winter morning.  This cut file is just lovely and I cut it out of white cardstock.  I decided to just back it with one colour of paper, but it could be backed with a multitude of papers as well to create an amazing ombre effect!

Since this cut file goes in the corner of a layout it was easy to figure out how to design my page! I just cut another paper on a diagonal and placed it in the opposite corner.  I also cut out a paper frame to encase my entire layout.  Overall I love the fun and whimsical scene created using this file along with embellishments that emphasized my theme!  Thank you so much for stopping by!

14 Days of Giveaways - Day 7 - Cathy Martin December 07, 2017 07:05 2 Comments

Hi everyone I'm up on the blog today and I'm using this gorgeous Joyful cut file!  Just for today you can get this cut file for free by using the code JOYFREE2  This really is a very lovely cut file, and even though it's part of Nicole's Christmas giveaway I decided to use it for a slightly different layout.  I used it for a winter layout, with a picture that was taken at the end of January.  Even the word Joy can be versatile, and if there is something that I cannot say enough about Nicole's cut files it is that they can be used in soooooo many ways!

For my layout I used a combination of products from the Snow and Cocoa collection as well as the Turn the Page collection.  It might seem like a bit of a strange pairing but there were some overlapping color schemes that helped me bring in more colors than just pink and teal.  I used the offset feature in Silhouette Studio to create an outline for the cut file.  I then used patterned paper to cut out the outline and white paper for the middle.  Propping it all up with foam gave just the right amount of dimension and interest!  I am so happy with the simplicity and sense of wonder and joy that comes across through all the elements.

Thank you for joining me today and I hope you go and grab your free cut file, and don't forget to stop by each day for the next 7 days for more cut files and inspiration!

Small Joys - Cathy Martin November 20, 2017 07:00

Hi everyone!  It's Cathy here and I'm up on the Just Nick blog today with a layout about being grateful for the small joys in life.  Sometimes when everything is getting overwhelming it's nice to take a step back and think about all the small simple things that can be enjoyed.  Whether it's the crisp smell of the cool air, laying down in a beautiful pile of leaves, or wrapping up in your favorite cozy sweater, these little things that sometimes seem so silly can be a huge help in keeping you grounded.

For my layout I chose the Leaf Circle Background cut file.  I loved how it could be interpreted as a leaf, or a petal, or even a feather.  I cut it out of teal cardstock just for a bit of a change-up from my usual white cardstock.  I backed it with paper starting from the center ring and going outwards. so that it was the same paper on each ring all the way around.  I used a mixture of old and new papers to back the cut file and then it was time to decide what to do for a background paper.  Originally I wanted to use a patterned paper, but after trying to decide for over an hour I gave up.  I ended up finding this dark wood grain and I really liked how it paired well with the dark colors in the photo.  To add a little extra detail I painted tiny white dots in acrylic paint around the outer perimeter of the cut file.

For embellishing I primarily used products from the Turn The Page collection.  It paired well with the colors I was using and many of the phrases were perfect for the mood I was trying to set.  I also used some wood veneers to add an earthiness to the layout and I found some older burlap embellishments from the Craft Market collection from Crate Paper to top it off.  I added some Heidi Swapp color shine in two different pinks to break up the large space between clusters.

Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a look at my project today!  I think it's important for us as memory keepers to not only document family and events, but to document our lives and our ups and downs as we go through life!

Colorful Watercolor Polygon! | Morgan Langley November 16, 2017 07:00

Hey crafty friends! Today I am sharing a colorful layout I created using the "Shattered Polygon" cut file! This cut file can be used in so many different ways so it is perfect!
I cut the file from a piece of paper from the "Oh my Heart" Pink Paislee collection and backed it onto a piece of white card stock. Then I used the negatives from the file and cut pieces of paper paper to fill in the polygon.
I wanted to make my background to be fun, so I extended some of the sections into the background by choosing a coordinating color and water coloring an extension of that section going off the page. Once it dried, I went in with that same color and did some splatters for added texture. On the sections I didn't water color in, I added splatters with the coordinating color.
To add even more texture I used some light blue vellum, cut three of the different shapes inside the cut file, added in seed beads and sequins, and then sewed it onto the layout.
I also added some stamping onto different sections of the polygon. I did some different fonts of ampersands, little V's for Violet's name, numbers, and some flowers.
I love how this layout turned out and how colorful it is! Make sure to follow Just Nick and myself @morewithmorganl on Instagram for more crafty posts! Thank you for stopping by!

Hey Spidey! - Cathy Martin October 27, 2017 06:00

Hey everyone!  It's almost Halloween!  I love this holiday, and I love the versatility of making layouts for it, because you don't just have to go with traditional colors and icons.  For instance in the layout I created using the Hey Spidey cut file, I went with blues, reds, black and lots of other colors to create a Spiderman themed layout.  I had a 12 x 12 paper that had various comic book panels and I used it to back some of the cut file, as well as a few other papers from my stash.  I didn't over-embellish my layout either, since it really didn't need it, there is already so much going on that a minimal approach worked well.  You could, in fact, use any cut file to create a Halloween themed layout!  Thank you so much for stopping by, and have an awesome day!

Thankful | Jen McMurtrey October 07, 2017 07:00

Happy fall, ya'll!!

It's my favorite time of year, and there is no shame in my game when it comes to letting anyone and everyone know. Today's project features a photo of a bunch of small pumpkins that my neighbor brought over last week . . . because she knows I love this time of year.

This layout uses the Card Sentiments 3, Leaf Cluster 2, and Stems 5 cut files that are available in the JustNick Shop.

To begin, I used a piece of transparency paper to print a copy of the photo used on the layout. I love using different types of paper/mediums when creating with cut files.

There is a bit of trial and error involved with printing and cutting with transparencies, and You Tube is a great resource for finding tutorials. I ended up using washi tape to attach the transparency to a piece of copy paper so my printer would feed properly.

The finished photo was about 8 x 8, which was the perfect size for my title and stems.

The base of the layout is white card stock that I first prepped with Vicki Boutin matte acrylic gel. Once dry, I used Prima metallic watercolors to paint the card stock and add splatters

Next, I used patterned papers from Jen Hadfield's Warm and Cozy collection to cut several of the leaf clusters and stems. These were layered under my photo using Mono adhesive and foam squares for added dimension.

At the top of the layout I used more stems and leaf clusters to create a visual line across the page. I added a die cut from the same Jen Hadfield collection, Echo Park enamel dots, and white thread.

I also added the same white thread and more embellishments around the photo along with additional enamel dots.

The title was last and I added an arrow sticker beneath it to give it more weight.

The finished layout has so, so much dimension and I love the unique aspect of the transparency paper.

Thank you for stopping by today. Be sure to visit the JustNick shop for these and many other beautiful cut files.

Live Today - Cathy Martin August 11, 2017 07:00

Hi everyone!  I can't believe we are almost halfway through August!  Where oh where has the summer gone.  Well I know for myself I am still going to be scrapping fun and bright layouts for just a little bit longer before I switch and start focusing on the awesomeness of autumn scrapping.  With that in mind this week is circles week and we are focusing on cut files that are circular.  This, for me, is seriously no problem, I LOVE all of Nicole's circular cut files!

For the layout I created I chose the Floral Ring 3 cut file, and I cut it out in a very primary, bright blue.  Now here is where the challenge is because this colour of blue is not one that I would usually use, but I really wanted to give myself a bit of a challenge as well as get a chance to use up products that would match well with the blue that I chose!

After much hmming and hahing and not being able to make a decision on patterned paper I finally was able to back the cut file and choose a background paper that really went well together.  I used products from Pinkfresh Studio and Pretty Little Studio to finish off the layout!

Thank you all so much for stopping by and don't forget to check out my process video to see how it all came together!  Thanks so much for stopping by and have an awesome day!

Good Life | Jennifer McMurtrey August 05, 2017 07:00

Hey JustNick friends! It's new file day and I'm sharing a layout with the just-released Boho Florals 2.

My youngest daughter is a Pinterest-loving girl and she is constantly holed up in her room creating projects that she has pinned. A while back she made marbled paper by combining shaving cream with food coloring and the effect was amazing. Naturally, I took it so I could use it on a layout.

The materials for this project were all pulled from the July Hip Kit. First, I used several of the patterned papers along with some packaging and layered them behind this fun photo of me and my friend Mary. Next, I used Abby's marbled paper and cut several pieces from the Boho Florals 2 file.

With the photo in place, I loosely adhered the cut flowers around the photo so they have a lot of dimension and pop off of the page.

I followed that with the title and embellishments from the kit along with strips of patterned paper on the top and bottom of the layout. Last, I sprinkled several of the negative cuts from the floral cuts above and below the photo for added color.

The finished project is bright and colorful and captures the fun vibe of the photo.

Thank you for stopping by today and be sure to visit the JustNick shop for these and many other fantastic cut files.

It Won't Rain All The Time - Cathy Martin July 26, 2017 06:00

Hello hello hello!  It's Cathy and I'm back showcasing another layout featuring one of Nicole's amazing cut files!  I find that the trend of plus signs seems to come and go, but I for one am a big fan!  I really loved all the Positive cut files in the shop, so I chose the Positive One file.  I did a little revamping with the file while I was in the Silhouette software.  I duplicated the file so that I could shrink it down and have lots of plus signs.  I then deleted random signs here and there, just to add a bit of visual interest.

My next step was to back my pluses with lots of different patterned papers from my stash as well as some from 6x6 paper pads.  I used a combo of newer papers from the Little by Little collection along with some papers that have been floating around my stash pile.  I left some of the pluses blank and then put another piece of white card stock behind the whole thing.  I added some details around the white ones with some ticking and then got to embellishing!

I am so flippin' happy with how this layout turned out.  The story behind my layout is about my son and his dealings with expressing and recognizing his emotions, and I just love the juxtaposition of the happy plus signs with the overall story of the layout!

Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a look today!

Happy Summer - Cat Martin April 21, 2017 06:00

Hello hello hello!  It's Cat here back with another layout!  I am so happy and excited with how this layout turned out so I hope you like it too!.  I used the Radiate Cut File and cut it out from a polka dot patterned paper.  I then backed it with several different types of paper, including papers that originally came from some old K & Company Smash Books that I never even came close to completing!  I kept the embellishments and the background paper simple to really show off the photo and the cut file.  My picture perfectly fit in the circle in the centre.  The Radiate Cut File is perfect for emphasizing one picture and pretty much would fit any theme! I know for many of us who scrapbook the men and boys in our lives we have a difficult time but that's what I love about having the opportunity to create for JustNick, so I can showcase different ways to use her files and hopefully help those who are not sure exactly how to scrap for our boys! I will also have a process video up on my YouTube channel if you want to see how I put it all together, including all of my struggles!

All of Me Loves All of You February 03, 2017 06:00

Hey everyone!  Cathy here with a fun lovey dovey layout for you all.  I absolutely love the All of Me cut file and I knew immediately that I wanted to see it in black with gold ink splatters on it, so with that for the basis of my layout I set out to find a picture of my husband and I!  I ended up printing one that wasn't the best quality, but that I loved anyway, so I just kept it black and white and made it a very small photo, that way the title could really take centre stage.  I love the idea of adding other textures on my layouts so I used some beautiful striped ribbon to compliment my page.  I fussy cut out a cute little bird from the Maggie Holmes Gather collection.  I loved how well those Pinkfresh Studio hearts from the Indigo Hills collection matched with all my colours so I added lots of those too!  I absolutely love how well a tiny photo tucks in around my big title, it brings a feeling of cohesion and unity to all the elements going on in my layout.  Thank you so much for stopping by and don't forget to check out my process video on my YouTube channel to see how this layout came together and to see what happens when you have a terrible accident while scrapping!

Girl of Autumn - Stuck?! Sketches Team Up September 24, 2016 07:00

Hello hello hello everyone!  It's Cathy and I'm back with another layout to share with you!  This time I'm getting ready for my favourite season, and what better way to get in the mood for Fall than to scrap about it!  I used 2 cut files from Just Nick this time.  I used her Floral Wreaths cut file as well as her new Leaves 2 cut file!  I just love the look of the stark white leaves and wreath against the wood grain of the back ground paper.  The leaves would look amazing backed with beautiful patterned paper as well but for this layout I love them on their own.  I tend to be a scrapper who only scraps one or two photos per layout so I altered the sketch a bit to suit the picture that I wanted to use.  I also changed the title position, since I decided to go with such large chipboard letters!  Thank you so much for stopping by and don't forget to pop over to the Stuck?!Sketches blog, because if you play along with the sketch you have a change to win a prize from Just Nick!

P.S. Don't forget to take a look and be sure to take a peek at my process video for this layout!

Me by Tarrah McLean July 13, 2016 07:00

Hi everyone!

Tarrah here with you today! I am super excited to be staying on the Just Nick team for another term! Huge thanks to Nicole for having me on the team once again! I absolutely LOVE cut files and include them on 90% of my layouts!

We were all asked to create a layout about ourselves...I recently changed my profile picture on Facebook to one of my favourite photos of myself (there aren't too many of those I can assure you ;)) so I decided to print it out and use that one for my page.

I'm not normally a flower person if you know me and my style but I had that gorgeous Illustrated Faith 'She Blooms' paper left over from my May Hip Kit and decided the Doily Background cut file would work perfectly with the paper! I cut it out with my Cameo and turned it around until I was happy with how it looked on my layout!

I added lots of different types of embellishments like, chipboard, wood veneer, puffy stickers, flair and enamel dots to help the cut file pop off the page and by using a black and white photo it makes the colour pop too!

Thanks so much for joining me on the Just Nick blog today!

Happy creating!

True Love {Heart Background} July 08, 2015 07:00 1 Comment

Hi everyone!

Melissa here with a layout showcasing one of the awesome background cut files in the shop.

I love using background cut files because it adds interest and rhythm to a page. They are especially fun for a clean and simple scrapper - which is what I use to label myself. Now, I just love to experiment and one of those ways of experimentation, is utilizing these cut files to their full potential.

Here is the page I created:

I really love this heart background! I chose to use the .png version and traced it. After releasing the compound path, I left some of the hearts filled. Then, with the negative part cut out, I used gelatos to create a watercolor effect and layered them. On top of the color, I added some stencil work using modeling paste and other embellishments. I felt so artsy! And, the best part, it was super easy.

Thanks for swinging by today!

Meet Nicole Mantooth! June 10, 2015 07:00 1 Comment

Help me welcome Nicole Mantooth to the team!

Hello there!  My name is Nicole and I am so excited to be here.  I live in Southern California with my husband Jacob and our 3 kiddos little Jacob - 10, Caleb - 8 and Chloe is 5.  I love God, photography, scrapbooking, reading, making wood signs and diet pepsi and spending time with my family. My husband is very supportive of my craftiness even when it takes over the entire house, and now with my wood sign making it has even taken over his garage.  :)  I am excited to be here and share some fun stuff with everyone, and see all the inspiration from the rest of these talented ladies.

Meet Jennie McGarvey! June 08, 2015 07:00 2 Comments

Welcome back for another week of DT intros :) Today, help me welcome Jennie McGarvey to the team!

Hi, I'm Jennie McGarvey! I'm the mom of 3 school aged boys (Campbell, Sawyer and Harrison) and wife to Andy. We currently live in Southern California and enjoy the sunshine and warm temperatures year round. I started scrapbooking when I was 12 and in the current style in 2001 when I was pregnant with my oldest son. I scrapped off and on until 2011, when I decided to get online and share my projects. I have a bright, linear and colorful style that I use on my pages about my kids, pocket pages and cards. I have been published in various publications and currently also design for Scraptastic Kit Club, Bella Blvd. and We R Memory Keepers.

Meet Marcia Dehn-Nix June 06, 2015 07:00 1 Comment

Help me welcome Marcia Dehn-Nix to the team!

Hello, My name is Marcia. I am married to the most wonderful guy and we live in Minnesota (where winters are way too long and summers are way too short). We have three adult kids. Our oldest just finished college and got married! Another is studying to be a Vet. My youngest is not sure what he wants to do but is working toward a Math/Physics degree.

I have been scrapbooking for about 15 years. My scrapbooking evolved out of a love for photography. In fact, I used to be a wedding photographer!  Besides my love for all forms of paper crafting, I have a soft side when it comes to cute, furry animals. My family fosters kittens and puppies on occasion for a local rescue. Currently in residence is the family dog Satchel, and 3 cats; Delta, Spook, and Xena (my latest stray acquisition). I do have a 9-5 job working as a software engineer. Yup, I am a nerd too.

Meet Jaclyn Rench ! June 05, 2015 07:00 2 Comments

We are happy to share with you another talented lady to join our team in 2015.

I'm Jaclyn Rench, a stay-at-home mommy to three awesome kids and wife of 13 years to a super supportive husband.  By day I spend my hours kissing boo-boos, refereeing squabbles, planning playdates, packing lunches, shuffling children from here to there, and trying to figure out what in the heck to fix for dinner that is healthy AND something my kids will eat!  Once my kids are tucked into bed, however, you can find me at my crafting desk into the wee hours of the night and early morning, documenting the stories and memories that come out of those non-stop busy days.  I hope someday my scrapbooks will give my children a good reminder of the memories of their childhood and a sense of just how much they are loved.

Meet Aurelie Cormier June 04, 2015 07:00 8 Comments

Help me welcome Aurelie Cormier to the team!

I originally hail from Cheticamp, a beautiful Acadian village right on the Cabot Trail in Cape Breton, NS. Studying in Moncton, I quickly fell in love with NB and have been a permanent resident since 2005. I now reside in Dieppe with my husband, Mathieu, our six-year old son, Louis-Olivier, our one-year old daughter, Éloïse, and our cat, Caillou. Since 2007, I am a public servant by day and a full-fledged scrapper by night.

Scrapbooking has become an integral part of my life. I try doing something scrapbook-related every day, may it be working on a layout, browsing through online galleries or reading scrapbook magazines. Published in a few editions of Canadian Scrapbooker and most recently in France's own Histoires de Pages, my style has been known to be called "rustic", which is fine by me as it enables me to relish in fattening things up with layers, dimension, tearing and texture. Other than scrapbooking, I have rekindled a romance with reading through a monthly book club I joined at work in February 2012. I also tutor, teach voice classes and sing most weekends at a few church services around the area.

Meet Lee-Anne Thornton June 03, 2015 07:00 4 Comments

Meet Lee-Anne Thornton!

I am married to my best friend Rick and have three great kids, a son who is 15, a daughter 28 that is married and a son 30 that is married.  Both of my married children live about 200 miles away.  While my 15 year old son is at school, I love to scrapbook in my studio.

I began my wonderful scrapbooking journey in 2001 and it's been quite the ride! In the past 3 years, I have been honored to be published in several scrapbooking magazines including Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine and Scrapbook And Cards Today and have served on a variety of design teams.

My other passions besides scrapbooking are cooking, baking, photography, flowers, animals and going to the mountains near where I live. I am very excited to be asked to join the first ever Just Nick Design Team and to put my much loved Silhouette Cameo to work!

Here is a sample of Lee-Anne's work using one of our cut files:

Meet Guiseppa Gubler! June 02, 2015 07:00 4 Comments

Let's kick things off by announcing our first DT member - Guiseppa Gubler!

Usually when I throw out my name Guiseppa, most people never forget who I am.  I think having a unique name has been fun and really helpful in many aspects of my life, including scrapbooking...like I said, most people never forget the name.  I have been scrapbooking for about 20 years now.

I jumped on the scrapbooking band wagon when it was so new, so I have seen a lot of changes in the industry.  I spend a lot of time scrapbooking (one of the benefits of having children in school all day).  I have now created over 80 albums since I began.  I like to think of myself as a clean scrapbooker, but I love dimension on my pages and find my self going through huge amounts of foam adhesive.  I enjoy scrapbooking so much that about five years ago I dove into the design team world.  I have been published in many print and online magazines.  My all time favorite tool is my Silhouette Cameo and that is why I thought it was a good idea to have the chance to design for JustNick!

I have been married to my number one supporter Sam for nearly 18 years and we have 3 children; Braden  age 18, Janica 16, and our little Angel Sterling passed away eight years ago from "The Bubble Boy Disease."  Never has scrapbooking meant so much to me as when he passed away.  I have all of those wonderful memories of him preserved through scrapbooking.  When I am not scrapbooking, I enjoy spending time with my family.  You can often find us in the mountains camping, hiking, fishing and exploring on our 4 wheeler.  I also enjoy reading and traveling.  Just over two years ago I became a Zumba Instructor.  I enjoy keeping in shape as well as helping others to do the same all while dancing...so fun!

I'm excited to share with you one of my favorite passions with JustNick's fabulous designs!
