Good Vibes Layout | Nicole Kerr July 2, 2021 07:00 1 Comment

Hello crafty friends!
Nicole here and today I'm sharing a layout that I created using three new cut files that will be released and available tomorrow, July 3rd! There are so many possibilities for summer layouts that you don't want to miss them!
The new files that I used are:
I began my layout by cutting the radical background on white paper.  I cut it in half to make it look more like a sun. My initial thought was to just use it as a stencil with my distress inks, but once I applied those inks, I love the cutout as much as the back ground! I added foam adhesive behind the cutfile and glued it to my background paper. I love the dimension this gives!
I then used some watercolors from my stash in two shades of blue to paint the bottom portion of my page to look like the water in the pool.  I used the Hey Fishies cutfile and added three fish to the bottom part of the page. I watercolored these little cuties a shimmery gold.
For my title, I used the "good vibes" cutfile.  I cut this phrase three times on white cardstock and glued all three layers together.  It gives it more of a chipboard type of feel and is a lot sturdier when added to all of the layers. With all of the other colors going on, I decided to leave this plain white for a pop of clean and bright white.
For my photos, I used three of my son swimming in the pool when we took a four day vacation in June. He is my little fish and this spread was perfect to document this moment! I used the new Cocoa Vanilla Sunkissed collection to embellish my photos with florals, clear stickers, puffy stickers and even some tangled thread.
Thanks so much for joining me today!
Don't forget to set those alarms and come back tomorrow to grab all three of these new cut files!

Hello Good times | Laureen Wagener May 22, 2017 07:00

Hi friends -

it's Laureen up on the blog. I hope you had a wonderful weekend and maybe even got some crafting done?
I did - I finished up todays layout and am loving the summery vibe it gives!

I pulled out the awesome Poolside collection from Crate Paper - still one of my favorites ever!

I wanted to get a bubbly effect, because it kind of reminds me of water and bubbles and lightness and the beach and summer and all that good stuff - so I used the Totally Tubular Cut file along with the leaves and flowers from the new Take me to paradise set.

I simply cut the Totally Tubular Background out of white cardstock, backed it with a few papers from the collection and started layering up my pieces together.

The leaves and flowers were cut from white cardstock and then colored with watercolors to match the collection.

After all - this page came together so quick! Cut files just make it easy to create with - they are so fun to use!

I hope I inspired you a little and will catch you next month ;)
Happy crafting,

Laureen
