Bubble Blowing Fun | Marcia Dehn-Nix April 20, 2017 07:00

Hello JustNick friends! Marcia here today. I have an awesome layout to share today. This one has a photo of my daughter at 15. She had just learned how to blow bubbles with her bubble gum. Of course, after learning how, she was chewing gum and blowing bubbles all the time. I thought it would be fun to use lots of circles in my design to put the emphasis on the bubbles. I selected the Protozoa Background and selectively backed only a few of the circles.

I used a sheet of acetate to back my cut file. The acetate sheet had lots of colorful circles on it as well. I created my title by mixing the Outline Alpha  and the Script Font digital cut files. I backed the outline alpha letters with a marbled pattern paper that reminded me of bubble gum.

Here is a closer look...

I framed my photo with the Round and Round cut file, adding even more circles to my design.

Here are the cut files I used today ...

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Be sure to check out what's new in the JustNick store.

Sweet as a donut April 29, 2016 07:00

It's Friday!  If that's not reason enough to celebrate, than how about a look at a page full of donuts, pink and Just Nick cut files?! Those are three of my favorite things and that's just what I'm sharing with you today!

I've had this sweet picture of my little girl in my 'to scrap' pile for quite sometime, but hadn't found the right inspiration piece to encourage me to get it on a page.  Until, that is, I spotted the Round and Round cut file.  I knew that file would be a great compliment to my donut themed page. C'mon I can't be the only one that is reminded of donuts by any and everything round, can I?!

I cut the Round and Round cut file a couple times from white cardstock, layering the ends underneath the left side of my photo.  It creates and fun and funky photo mat and breaks up the strong vertical lines of the background papers.

There are so many fun words in the Just Nick store.  Before searching through my stash of letter stickers, I often peruse my inventory of files for the perfect word/words to act as my page title. I used the scripty 'sweet' from the Girl Power file and completed my phrase with a bold font from my computer.  I cut the word four times from white cardstock, adhering each one atop of the next to create a sturdy, almost chipboard-like element.  Doing so, creates dimension and allows the title to stand out against the white background.

I hope this page inspires you to look to your stash of cut files for inspiration for some of your pictures and stories that need documented.  And if nothing else, it's certainly got you craving donuts, right?! ;)

I Love Spring March 22, 2016 07:00

Hello! It's Lee-Anne here and since it's officially Spring in my area, I wanted to share a layout of my favorite season.

For my layout, I began with a 12X 12 piece of white cardstock that I added stripes of distress ink and then I cut the Woven Background on another piece of white cardstock and added it on top of the striped cardstock.  I really thought it looked like a garden trellis and would look good with my flower theme.

Next, I cut the Fancy Floral, Good Vibes and Round And Round cut files on some patterned paper, added some foam squares to give more dimension and placed them on top of the Woven Background. Finally I added my photo, my title in mini stickers and some enamel dots.

Here are the cut files:

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out these and many more designs in the Just Nick Digital Cut Files shop.  Happy creating!
