Let's Go Play - JustNick & Jillibean Soup Team Up! August 26, 2016 07:00 5 Comments

Hey everyone it's Cathy here and I'm back with another layout, this time using the amazing JustNick Studio cut files and products from Jillibean Soup

I love this team up and had so much fun creating a cute layout using the Jillibean Soup Mushroom Medley collection and the Scallop cut file!  The Mushroom Medley collection has so many cute and fun elements, it's perfect for outdoor layouts, seasonal layouts, or any type of layout actually!  I loved the masculine colours in the collection and I decided I back one of Nicole's cut files with as many patterned papers as I could!

I used a fun picture of my youngest as I found it really matched well with the collection.  I scoured over all the cut files in the shop and I eventually decided I wanted to do a scallop background.  I know many would consider scallops to be a bit girly but I loved how they added a feeling of motion to the layout, and since that was what I was trying to get across they went perfectly!  I also have a process video so don't forget to check that out to see how I made my layout!

Cards to Celebrate October 09, 2015 07:00

Hello JustNick friends! Marcia here today.

I have a couple cards to share with you for celebrations. The first one I created with the Lemon Slice digital cut file.

I was eyeballing this cut file when I created my last layout using the Pink Paislee Citrus Bliss collection. I kept thinking, "You Put the Lime in the Coconut"... and so the lemon slice became a lime slice. Yes, I know its Fall, but the weather here is still surprisingly warm. I'll take those warm days without complaining because all too soon the snow will be flying here. Here is my card...

I cut the lime twice, once with pattern paper and once with watercolor paper that I then painted a lime green. This way I could swap out parts and make 2 limes.

For my second card I used the new Birthday Sentiments and the Simple Scallop Strips digital cut files.

Birthday cards are by far the cards I make most often. Here is my card...

I decided to create a cake for those candles to sit on and decorate it with the scallop strips. I used the Celebrate sentiment from the same cut file.

Thanks for stopping by.
We would really love to see your creations using the JustNick Studio cuts!  Please feel free to share them on our Facebook page, or tag us on Instagram with @justnickstudio

Sparkling up Your Cards October 06, 2015 07:00

I love to look at the details of things and try to find a way to put my own spin on them.  Christine joining you today and I am going to show you how I did just that with a couple of JustNick files and cards!  I added my own sparkling details to the cards!

As I was looking at the Retro Sqaure Background file I thought it would be neat to do some kind of a shape with the grid you see in it!  I have a stockpile of rhinestones so that was the perfect medium to use!  After figuring out the shape of the heart I started building from the top and bottom (so it would be close to center) and filled in from there.  I considered putting the rhinestones inside the little squares but opted for the vertices instead.

I cut out a second copy of the Retro Square in pink and filled in a border using the inside pieces.  I also cut out a coordinating sentiment from the new Card Sentiments 2 Set.

I have a soft place in my heart for scallops - I love how they look on cards and will go to them whenever I have the chance.  This card uses the Scallop Background.  After cutting out the scallop background I attached it to a piece of vellum.

I then added a rhinestone to the center of each scallop.  I love how sparkly this turned out but I also think it would be really neat with little pearls!

Keep checking in all week for more card inspiration!
