JustNick Cut File Store

Something to Remember | Vicki Parker December 27, 2019 07:00

Hi everyone, it's Vicki here today sharing my layout using the Fallen Snow cut file available in store here.

I have lots of bauble stickers and acetate pieces from a recent Hip Kit and I wanted to use them up, so I thought this would be the perfect excuse - lots of hanging things! I started by adding some drips of a blue Shimmerz paint down the page and painting the snowflakes lightly in the same colour.

I stuck the cut file to the top of the page and then using foam, I raised the snowflakes before sticking them to add some dimension.

I then pulled out the baubles and added them to the top or from the bottom of the paint drips to look like they were hanging from them.

I also used some acetate snowflakes to add to the theme. My photo was mounted on some blue cardstock and tucked into a snowflake. And that's it, the final layout - I hope it gives you some inspiration for using this cut file on a winter layout. Until next time...

Together | Vicki Parker October 3, 2019 07:00

Hi everyone, it's Vicki with you again and today I have a layout using the Big Wheel cut file.

It looks like this and can be found in the store here.

I started by using some Cocoa Vanilla Unforgettable collection and backing the circles with spokes with different papers. For the open circles, I decided to paint the cut out with some Shimmerz and add them back into the open circles. I used the same paint to add some colour underneath the large wheels on the cut file.

I popped the cut file up on foam to add some extra dimension before adding a few embellishments around the photo and the circles. I layered the photo with some paper and vellum and finally added an acrylic title from Bramble Fox.

I am so happy with the final layout, I hope you find inspiration from it. Until next time....

Memories | Vicki Parker September 30, 2019 07:00

Hi everyone, it's Vicki here today with my latest layout using the gorgeous Leafy Floral cut file, the Cocoa Vanilla Unforgettable collection and some Shimmerz.

I started by cutting the Leafy Florals which you can find in the store here on white cardstock.

I had the idea to layer it on top of the wreath paper in the unforgettable collection to add lots of dimension. I painted it using some Shimmerz paints in coordinating colours.

I added some Shimmerz behind the photo which is layered on some papers from the collection to extend the colour around the layout.

I used foam pads to lift the cut file off the page to give it prominence and added some further florals and butterflies around the page. I am so happy with how it turned out - I hope it gives you some inspiration. Until next time...

No Rain, No Rainbows | Vicki Parker August 28, 2019 07:00

Hi everyone, it's Vicki here today with my latest layout using the No Rain No Rainbows cut file - I had the perfect photo of my niece with her pink, glittery wellies!

I started by using distress oxides and creating a rainbow across the page and then once dry, I put it through my silhouette to cut the cut file which you can find in store here.

I then covered the background in clear gesso before using some Shimmerz sprays in three shades of blue on the background to represent sky.

To finish the layout off, I embellished with some Vicki Boutin Color Kaleidoscope stickers and two cute Perspextives from Bramble Fox.

It's pretty simple, but I hope it gives you some inspiration on using the cut file - it's such a fantastic one and just begs to be rainbow coloured! Here's one more close up... until next time!

Little Adventurer | Vicki Parker July 29, 2019 07:00

Hi everyone, it's Vicki here today with my latest layout and today I am using the Sunburst Background 2 cut file from the store here.
I have a photo of my best friend's little boy and it's just him outdoors, so I wanted to scrap it as an 'outdoor scene'. I started by cutting the background and colouring it with some Shimmerz sprays in varying shades of yellow using the packaging technique.
I put foam on the back of the whole of the cut file (this took a while, I won't lie, but I love the 3d effect it gives, so totally worth it)! I stuck it onto a patterned paper from the Vicki Boutin Color Kaleidoscope collection which gave me the blue skies I was looking for.
Then it was a case of layering up embellishments and mounting the photo and adding a title. I don't make boy layouts very often, so I really enjoyed making this - I hope it inspires you in some way. Here are a couple more close ups, catch you next time!

Craft Crazy | Vicki Parker July 10, 2019 07:00

Hi everyone - my name is Vicki and I am craft crazy! I am super excited to be starting this new term with JustNick and can't wait to really dig in to the cut files and create with them. Today's layout is about me, but before I tell you how I made it, here is my short bio.
I live in the South West of the UK and aside from three years in Nova Scotia, I have always lived in this region and I love it! I have been married to Rob for 17 years and we have a staffordshire bull terrier called Buster. It's strange to have one dog as we have had up to three, but for now, we are a one dog family - you may see him in some of my layouts over the coming year.
I started crafting many years ago when I made cards for friends and family, but I then found digital scrapbooking which fully consumed me for quite a few years - I even had my own digiscrap store for a while with a group of friends. I found though, that being on the computer all day for work and designing digitally was too much screen time for me, so I switched to paper scrapping and have never looked back. I am looking forward to using the fab JustNick cut files and can't wait to show you my upcoming projects.
So, for this first project, I used the Bits & Pieces Star Background.
I started by cutting it on a piece of white cardstock and then putting some gesso on the page before taking it off the mat. I also used the packaging technique with some Shimmerz sprays to add some colour around the edge to give some definition as the patterned paper I used was also white on the background.
So, I cut the white cardstock down to around 11x11 and mounted it on the Dear Lizzy paper which has some great hashtags on it.
The rest of the layout is pretty simple as the background is busy, so I mounted the photo on some papers and added a few embellishments from the Crate Paper All Heart collection.
I finished off by adding my title using Shimelle's Sparkle City thickers - I think it just about sums me up!
I hope you like the layout and it gives you some inspiration for using the fabulous cut file. I'll be back later in the month, but until then, thanks so much for looking.
