Wicked Fun | Marcia Dehn-Nix June 08, 2018 07:00
Hello JustNick Studio friends!
Marcia here today. A year ago, my daughters and I were finally able to see the off-Broadway musical Wicked when it came to Minneapolis. It was so fabulous!! I knew I wanted to use the Marquee Alpha digital cut file for these photos. It made for the perfect title cut from a vivid pink and yellow, just like the theater marquee sign.
I thought I would play up the Marquee Lights by using the Twilight Zone 1 background digital cut file. I love that it looks like light is radiating out from my title and photos.
I combined the Marquee Alpha with the Simple Set Alphabet to complete my title.
Here are the digital cut files I used today...
Thanks for stopping by. Have a fabulous weekend.
My Science Guy May 18, 2017 07:00
Hello JustNick Studio friends!
Marcia here today with a scrappy confession. I've been very bad about scrapping layouts of my son. He doesn't like having his picture taken. He doesn't post selfies of himself all that often. It was quite evident that his sisters get lots more attention on my scrapbook pages when I was putting my latest layouts in albums. So for a little while I thought I would concentrate on scrapping the photos I do have of him. These were from Christmas a year and a half ago.
I used this awesome background called Weird Science. When I first saw it, I thought of these pictures I had of him receiving a bartender chemistry set for Christmas. He loves math and science. He is currently working his way through college as a bartender ... so of course he needed a bartender chemistry set.
I used the Simple Set Alphabet for my title. I like the whimsical feel to this font.
I backed the negative space with pattern papers from the Shimelle Little By Little collection. The circle patterns in the paper drew me in. I knew they would be perfect with all the circles in this background cut file, plus the primary colors are great for scrapping my science guy.
Here are the cut files I used today...
Thanks so much for stopping by today. Enjoy the rest of your week.
Autumn came September 10, 2016 07:00
Hi cut file fans -
it's Laureen here with you today and I have a fall layout.
I don't mind it still being 30 degrees here in Germany - that won't stop me starting the crafting for my favorite season - fall! You better prepare yourself for tons of fall layouts, cards and other projects coming your way from my posts for Just Nick.
As you probably already know, us girls were challenged to use at least 3 cut files for out page this week. I managed to use not only 3 but 7 different files. But to be fair - I combined most of them into my selfmade title! I loved the look of the title I made for my Lucky Stars layout - which you can find HERE - and decided to make a title again.
Here is the page I made.
I searched Pinterest for fall quotes and found this one I really liked - Autumn comes with wind & gold - perfect match for my picture of gold fall leaves.
I used two Alphabets to build my title - Simple Set Alphabet and Script Alpha 2 - and started my building my quote. After that was done it was missing some bits and so I pulled one leaf from Leaves 2, the solid stem from Stems and the outline of one leaf from Leaf it to me and added those into the mix. Just weld it all together and you are good to go.
For this layout the new fall collection Warm and Cozy from Jen Hedfield and Pebbles is perfect! I cut my title out of one of the woodgrain papers and Autumn Ring from a different white woodgrain paper.
Autumn Ring may be one of my new favorite cut files for fall themed layouts - I used a patterned paper behind it and to soften the look of it, added a sheet of vellum on top.
I also cut a few extra stems from Stems and Stems 2 as accents and added those around my page - and easy as that my cut file work was done!
Here are a few close-up shots:
Thank you so much for checking out the layout - I truly hope you like it!
Onto the next time -

Hello Sweet Girl September 08, 2016 07:00
Hello, my friends. Heather Leopard is back again today to show you how I used 3 fabulous cut files for today's layout.
I have this photo of my precious littlest girl playing dress up with a bouquet of flowers, mostly white dress and a veil so I was quite inspired to keep a lot of white for this particular layout.
I added a pop of color with the embellishments around the wreath. I used a mix of cut file alphas and an embellishment to create my title, cutting the word "sweet" out white cardstock, using the Simple Set Alphabet cut file.
JustNick + Jillibean Soup = fun! August 25, 2016 07:00 4 Comments
Hey everyone! Nicole here today to share a fun about me project for our team up with my friends at Jillibean Soup
I am lucky enough to be on the Jillibean Soup team, and they are a great group of people. I love their products and truly create some of my most favorite projects with their products. I decided to do an about me page with a few cut files from the store.
I used the two new Jillibean Soup collections, Hardy Hodgepodge and Chit Chat Chowder on this page. I started by diecutting the title from various papers in both collections, using the Simple Set Alpha from the store. I love the playful and simple letters, and mixing the colours is lots of fun too!
Next, I wanted to fill the bottom of the page, but didn't want to use my typical background cut file, so I diecut a bunch of different labels from Labels One, again in varying papers from the Jillibean Soup collections.
I love how it all came together quickly, and colorfully too!
