JustNick Cut File Store

Blooming April 26, 2016 07:00

Hi there Just Nick fans! Suzanna here today to share with you another spring flower layout featuring the Spiral Background file. Yesterday Marcia shared her blooms with the background file and today I happen to be sharing my flowers using the same file.

Just as Marcia did on her layout which you saw yesterday, I used the digital cut file rather large as a background for my layout using white cardstock. The file creates a perfect bed of flowers upon which to house all my other goodies.

As I had pre-cut the file without a specific plan and was away at a crop when this layout was created, I had to use "old fashioned" die cuts for my leaves. Were I home or had I had my Silhouette with me, I would have done just as Marcia did and used the same leaves file. What I love so much about scrapping is that the sky is the limit. Despite the same files and similar themed pictures, our layouts look so different. Neither one of us had any idea the other was using the same file.

I used golden texture paste in, around and behind bits of the digital cut file for some added depth and texture to the page. The way it compliments and brings out the other gold elements on the page worked well.

I had pre-cut the new alpha that Nicole created (I love the alphas! they are some of the best alphas out there!) but it was a tad busy with all the other bits and bobs I had on the layout. I will save those for another layout and went with these letters from Fancy Pants instead.

Thanks for stopping into the Just Nick blog today! I hope your Spring is off to a blooming good start!

Today Love Blooms April 25, 2016 07:00

Hello JustNick friends!

Marcia here today. It's Spring and I have been out cleaning out my flower beds to prepare them for planting this year and my husband has already put my water fountain out. He gave me this fountain as an anniversary gift over 15 years ago. I could probably count the material gifts he has given me over the years on one hand, but when he does buy me something, he knows my heart. Keeping this fountain running is a labor of love for him, a gift he continues to give me each year.

That background paper is so beautiful, but I did not want my photos to get lost. Framing them with the Spiral Background cut twice from white cardstock really helps keep them from blending into the background. The spirals are so similar to some of my floral die cuts too.

Some black Stems really pop against all that vivid color.

I used two different cut files to create my title; "Today" from the Today Forever Always cut file, and the "Love" from the Word 3 cut file.

Here are all the cut files I used today.

Thanks for stopping by.
