JustNick Cut File Store
HEY AMAZING YOU | Nathalie DeSousa April 22, 2019 07:00
Nathalie with you today bringing you a new project that fits this week's theme, Flowers. There are so many new beautiful cut files available in the JustNick Studio shop, so, I picked a few of them to create this fresh flowery page.
I started this page by adding a bit of mixed media to the background using acrylic white paint and Distress inks. While the background dried, i cut from white cardstock the Henna Heart cut file as well as a few stems using the Stems 2 cut file.
Once the background dried, the heart cut out was glued to the page. I pulled Pinkfresh Studio's Joyful Day collection to create the flowers using the Build a Flower 3, Build a Flower 4, Build a Flower 6, and Build a Flower 7 cut files.
I ruffled the edges of the flowers using a bone folder and then build them together. I replace the flowers in the heart cut out with these flowers, and added the stems behind them so that they create clusters around the page.
A few embellishments from the Joyful Day collection complete the clusters and title in the page. A few lines of journal and gold ink droplets are the final touches added.
I hope this has inspired you to mix a few of the JustNick Studio designs in your next project. Nicole has added lots of beautiful designs to the store lately, it is hard to just choose one.
Remember you can always contact me if you have questions on how this came together.
Holiday Cards | Marcia Dehn-Nix November 28, 2018 07:00
Hello JustNick Studio friends!
Do you make holiday cards to send at this time of the year? Marcia here today. I try really hard to make cards and get them all mailed out. Some years I do better than others. I can't seem to force myself to make any though until after Thanksgiving. I am in full Christmas cardmaking mode now though, lol. I love using digital cut files on my cards just like I do my layouts. On my first card I added a pretty Layered Poinsettia along with some Stems 2. I love the dimension the layered poinsettia adds.
For my second card I used the Holly Ring digital cut file to frame my sentiment.
Here are the cut files I used today...
Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great week.
Love Story | Marcia Dehn-Nix November 12, 2018 07:00
Hello JustNick Studio friends!
Marcia here today. This week on the blog we are posting projects with the theme Thankful. I know with Thanksgiving approaching we are thinking about all the things we are thankful for; family, jobs, health ... My hubby just had surgery recently to repair a hernia (nothing too serious). I am thankful that I have had this wonderful man by my side for 35 years so I decided to scrap one of our wedding photos. (Don't laugh too much about my 80's hair and hat. lol. I converted the photo to black and white so you can't tell that his tux is baby blue)
To add some depth, I used the Stems 2 digital cut file as a stencil behind the rose clusters as well as under some fussy cut flowers.
Here are the digital cut files I used this week...
Thanks so much for stopping by today. Did I get you thinking about what you are thankful for?

Hey guys! Today I am sharing a layout that is a little different for me! I love watercoloring, but I usually keep it simple with a few splatters here and there. For this one though I cut the different stems from "Stems 2,4, and 5" (three cut files) and water colored away! I did a rainbow of coloring and mixed shades and amounts of water to get the look I wanted. While the paint was still wet I did splatters of darker/lighter colors or just water drips to make the paint spread. I love the way it turned out and it was SO fun and care free!
I added super minimal embellishments with some corresponding sequins, flowers, little birds, ladybugs, snails, etc. Then I used mixed letter stickers to create my title!
Thank you so much for stopping by! Pick up these unique stem cut files yourself and see what you can create! It's always fun to try something new!
Autumn leaves and pumpkins please | Laureen Wagener September 13, 2017 07:00
Hi friends -
is it too early to scrap fall yet? I don't think so! It is never to early to bring on my favorite half of the year!
This week we are focusing on words/ sentiments over on the blog!
I didn't want to simply use a premade sentiment from Nicole, so I decided to create my own two words to use as die- cuts on my page!
That way you can easily transform your own ideas into a cool design element for your next layout.
I used the Script font cut file to create the words "autumn" and "pumpkins" to later create a title for my page. I welded the letters together and then changed the color of the outline to an orange, because orange = fall ;)
Luckily you can send designs from your Silhouette to your printer, so I printed those two words onto some smooth white cardstock and placed that cardstock piece onto my pix scan mat. I took a photo of it, loaded it into the sofware and created a larger outline for my words, and then simply cut them - and that way you can easily create your own die- cut words for your next project.
For the rest of my page I combined a bunch of fall- ish cut files and used tons of leaves and stems and a pumpkin and cut that out of patterned paper to create my cluster/ overwhelming design going on at the bottom ;)
I hope you enjoyed todays inspiration ;)
Grateful... Thankful November 23, 2016 07:00
Hello everyone! Donna here to share with you my take on this week's theme.
My page is about my family. I am thankful for them for all the joy, happiness, the craziness, the love. Though my daughter just turned two last October, she has grown beautifully, smart and very active lol! I am so thankful I have a husband like my husband. He puts up with me no matter how crazy I am at times (most of the time haha!). Our family is not perfect. But we care, love and believe in each other. We take the good and the bad, that's what make our family beautiful.
And here is what I created
I converted the photo into B/W to avoid clashing with the soft colors of I used on my layout. Originally, color Red is dominant in the photo.
I wanted to create an airy feeling so I just used light/soft color. I painted the leaves, stems and the words "grateful" and "thankful" with just hints of watercolor
I love how the mixing of papers and embellishments from different manufacturers turned out too!
This part is one of my fave in this page. I just tucked the leaves and stems under the strips of papers, adding texture and dimension to the page.
I hope you liked it!
Thanks for dropping by!
Stuck?! Sketches team up! September 18, 2016 09:00 1 Comment
Good morning everyone! Nicole here to let you know all about a team up that we will be sharing, starting tomorrow, on our blog with the team of Stuck?! Sketches!
Laura has created a great sketch for some of our teams to both use, and we have combined some of our JustNick cut files with that same sketch for some fun results!
I played along with the sketch too and thought I would share a preview of that today. A sketch can truly do wonders for my mojo, and adding in some cut files, make a page come together quite easily too!
I used the new Rustic Leaf Frame cut file for this page, and you can see it makes a large impact on the page. Once I die cut it from the patterned paper, I simply added a few pieces of green behind the leaves and voila!
I added in some popped up diecut stickers and enamel dots around the frame area. I love combining the die cut frame with products I can easily get from a manufacturer!

Now, I am sure you will be able to do wonders with this same sketch! Come back tomorrow to see the sketch and what Laureen did with it! Plus, you will get a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to our store too! A win -win I think!
Have a creative Sunday!
Autumn came September 10, 2016 07:00
Hi cut file fans -
it's Laureen here with you today and I have a fall layout.
I don't mind it still being 30 degrees here in Germany - that won't stop me starting the crafting for my favorite season - fall! You better prepare yourself for tons of fall layouts, cards and other projects coming your way from my posts for Just Nick.
As you probably already know, us girls were challenged to use at least 3 cut files for out page this week. I managed to use not only 3 but 7 different files. But to be fair - I combined most of them into my selfmade title! I loved the look of the title I made for my Lucky Stars layout - which you can find HERE - and decided to make a title again.
Here is the page I made.
I searched Pinterest for fall quotes and found this one I really liked - Autumn comes with wind & gold - perfect match for my picture of gold fall leaves.
I used two Alphabets to build my title - Simple Set Alphabet and Script Alpha 2 - and started my building my quote. After that was done it was missing some bits and so I pulled one leaf from Leaves 2, the solid stem from Stems and the outline of one leaf from Leaf it to me and added those into the mix. Just weld it all together and you are good to go.
For this layout the new fall collection Warm and Cozy from Jen Hedfield and Pebbles is perfect! I cut my title out of one of the woodgrain papers and Autumn Ring from a different white woodgrain paper.
Autumn Ring may be one of my new favorite cut files for fall themed layouts - I used a patterned paper behind it and to soften the look of it, added a sheet of vellum on top.
I also cut a few extra stems from Stems and Stems 2 as accents and added those around my page - and easy as that my cut file work was done!
Here are a few close-up shots:
Thank you so much for checking out the layout - I truly hope you like it!
Onto the next time -

Crafting off the Page with Cut Files May 18, 2016 10:00 1 Comment
Hello everyone. I wanted to show you a project I created with my daughters. They hold a lemonade / bake sale every year and we always dress it up with all sorts of crafty elements so when this year rolled around, I knew exactly which JustNick cut files to use.
Can you spot the three cut files I used? It's a bit of an I-Spy game so let me walk you through it and show you a tutorial.
This entire decor of the lemonade stand was inspired by this paper flower garland I wanted to create. I hand cut some of the flowers from the Paige Evans' Fancy Free collection for Pink Paislee.
Then I chose two flowers from the Lazy Daisies cut file and added circles for holes in the middle of them so I could string them on the twine.
Next I downloaded the Stems 2 cut file created a hole for the twine to go through the leaf of the stem. To do this, I created a small circle nested in a large circle. I then stacked it on top of the stem and welded it together.
I then strung them on the twine and hung them from the top of the lemonade stand.
Next I created a little sign for the stand inviting people to try the lemonade. I chose the Lemon Slice cut file and then I typed "pucker up" and cut it out of coordinating paper.
I created several other elements using my Silhouette. You can find the details for those on my blog.
