JustNick Cut File Store

Hey guys! Today I am sharing a layout that is a little different for me! I love watercoloring, but I usually keep it simple with a few splatters here and there. For this one though I cut the different stems from "Stems 2,4, and 5" (three cut files) and water colored away! I did a rainbow of coloring and mixed shades and amounts of water to get the look I wanted. While the paint was still wet I did splatters of darker/lighter colors or just water drips to make the paint spread. I love the way it turned out and it was SO fun and care free!

I added super minimal embellishments with some corresponding sequins, flowers, little birds, ladybugs, snails, etc. Then I used mixed letter stickers to create my title!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Pick up these unique stem cut files yourself and see what you can create! It's always fun to try something new!

Travelers Notebook | Jaclyn March 23, 2018 07:00

Hi Just Nick friends!  It's Jaclyn here to share how I've incorporated a leafy Just Nick cut design into my latest Traveler's Notebook spread!

The Stems 5 cut file is one I have used on more than one occasion.  It is a great compliment to any floral, but also looks super sweet when tucked alongside a focal point photo or title. I like it best as a stand alone element, though!   And that's just how I've used it here.

It's graphic yet delicate in design and makes quite a statement when the background piece and outline are cut from two different papers and layered atop of one another.  I just love the way the black outline pops against the subtle teal patterned background!  And offsetting the two pieces, just the slightest bit, adds an element of imperfection and quirkiness.

This sweet and simple design creates the perfect pop of texture and interest to the page.  It just would not be complete without it!

Cherish | Marcia Dehn-Nix February 28, 2018 07:00

Hello JustNick Studio friends!

Marcia here today and I think I must have Spring Fever. I feel like it's been forever since I scrapped a really girly layout. Sometimes I just want to scrap pink flowers and yellow butterflies and imagine that Spring is just around the corner, especially when it's snowing outside (again!). I found the pretty Boho Florals 3 and the Stems 5 and created a gorgeous cluster to ground my photo.

To add color behind my white cut files, I watered down some acrylic paint and painted a line of yellow, orange, and pink across my page and then tapped my paper to make the paint run. Then I added a few paint splatters and some stamped butterflies and I had a beautiful background!

To make my flowers and stems more interesting I added sequins to the center of the pink flowers and drew some lines on the leaves with a marker.

The paint and the grey leaf stems help make the white floral cut file pop instead of blending into the background.

Here are the digital cut files I used today ...

I hope the rest of your week is fabulous! Take care.
