JustNick Cut File Store

Every Summer Has A Story | Rachel Lowe. September 11, 2018 07:00

Hello Rachel here and today I have a summer layout using several cut files and a wonderful title feature.

Firstly I chose my title and then sized it as I needed for my layout.

From the Take me to Paradise cut file set I cut three flowers varying in sized, I then cut two of the palm leaves and one of the other leaf. I then put this together, using foam tape to layer my flowers and attached my leaves. I finished off my tropical flowers with some NUVO dew drops.

I then over sized the flamingo backing it with a wonderful paper from Heidi Swapps new collection Pineapple Crush. I added a die cut flower from the collection. I then hand stitched around the flamingo to add texture and definition.

I used an ombre lime green paper from the Pineapple Crush collection which adds visual interest to my title. This title really enable me to add embellishments and my photo in a unique way.

I then added some embellishment features and my photo, careful not to over do the embellishing due to already having two large features on the layout.

And there you have it, two wonderful cut files that you would certainly use over and over again. Thank you for stopping by today and I hope I have inspired you to create your own summer story layout!

Celebrate You | Take Me to Paradise | Michelle Whorwood July 27, 2017 07:00

Hi everyone, Michelle here with a new layout to share with you! My youngest daughter recently turned 5 and had a flamingo themed party.   As soon as saw the Take me to Paradise cut file in store that featured the 'flamingo' and that 'tropical style leaf' I just knew it would be perfect to showcase the cake photo.

Here is my layout:

I started out by enlarging the 'tropical leaf' in this cut file and duplicated it so that I had 3 leaves to work with.  I wanted the leaves to look like they were 'holding' my photo and technically add a frame around it.   Next I cut out the 'flamingo' on pink patterned paper large enough to hug the right hand edge of my photo as well.   I love using cut files as giant embellishments on my page and it is so easy to do so.  The Take me to Paradise cut file has 6 different cut files on it which makes it a really good value for money as well.

Some close ups:

I hope you have enjoyed my latest layout today as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Best Day Ever | Morgan Langley July 04, 2017 07:00

Hello crafty friends! My name is Morgan and I am so excited to be sharing my first layout I created for Just Nick!

For my layout I used the "Graphic Chevron Background" first as a guideline for my paper embroidery. Rather than cutting the file I used a grey Silhouette Sketch pen on white card stock.

After sketching the cut file, I poked my holes and starting stitching with shades of blue and pink thread. For the larger sections not filled with lines, I stitched around the outside and then added pieces of scrap paper I had from the Crate Paper Oasis collection. I also used the branding strips of the 6x6 Oasis pad to machine stitch around the outer edges of the layout.

For my title I used the "Best Day Ever" cut file, cutting it on hot pink cardstock and then cutting three pictures from my family vacation to Mexico to fit into the word DAY.

I also typed my title with my typewriter on white paper and added it in the center of the layout under the A. I stamped my date in the right hand corner by stamping the year and then layering the date again using a roller stamp. I love this technique for really making the date stand out.

Clustered around "DAY" are palm branches from the cut file "Take me to Paradise". I love these leaves and use them on almost every summery project I make! I also clustered some word stickers, sequins, puffy stickers, and embellishments.

I splatter painted my background with light and dark pink watercolors, added sequins, and I love how it turned out! Thank you so much for reading about my crafty process and I hope you will try and make your own projects using these beautiful cut files!

Hello Good times | Laureen Wagener May 22, 2017 07:00

Hi friends -

it's Laureen up on the blog. I hope you had a wonderful weekend and maybe even got some crafting done?
I did - I finished up todays layout and am loving the summery vibe it gives!

I pulled out the awesome Poolside collection from Crate Paper - still one of my favorites ever!

I wanted to get a bubbly effect, because it kind of reminds me of water and bubbles and lightness and the beach and summer and all that good stuff - so I used the Totally Tubular Cut file along with the leaves and flowers from the new Take me to paradise set.

I simply cut the Totally Tubular Background out of white cardstock, backed it with a few papers from the collection and started layering up my pieces together.

The leaves and flowers were cut from white cardstock and then colored with watercolors to match the collection.

After all - this page came together so quick! Cut files just make it easy to create with - they are so fun to use!

I hope I inspired you a little and will catch you next month ;)
Happy crafting,

Laureen
