Party Every Day! | Morgan Langley April 07, 2018 07:00

Hey guys! Thank you for stopping by to continue celebrating Just Nick's 3rd birthday! Today I am sharing a layout I created using the "Party Hats" cut file!
I starting by cutting the striped hat on white card stock and watercoloring the paper! I wanted do a rainbow looks so I started with pink instead of red, and then went to orange, yellow, green, blue and purple adding some dark and light shades of each. Then I stitched with shades of that same color along the stripes and added a coordinating pom pom on top!
On my white background I used the packaging technique to make a color coordinating base for my party hat! I also added some splatters of watercolor.
I added my title with kraft colored chip board letters and the celebrate letters from the "Turn the Page" 2x2 album. Next I took my mini heart punch and punched color coordinating hearts for each party hat section. I added some buttons, acrylic pieces, flowers, and puffy stickers and loved how this colorful layout turned out!

You & Me | Jen McMurtrey January 27, 2018 07:00

Hello JustNick friends!

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and JustNick has loads of wonderful cut files for your projects. However, today I am sharing a non-Valentine themed project using the new Heart Cluster file.

The project began with my duplicating the file in several sizes and cascading it down the page. I cut it on white card stock, backed it with a floral-patterned paper (Paige Evans' Turn the Page collection), and splattered it with ink.

I continued with the same file and used the offset feature on my Silhouette to create the next set of hearts. Once this was cut, I used several of the patterned papers and backed the heart clusters in a rainbow-like color scheme. This piece was adhered to the white card stock over the previously cut hearts with foam squares.

My photo was next and it was backed with patterned paper and placed on top of the hearts. Since the layout was already very bright, I printed the photo in black and white.

Embellishments were next and I clustered several of the floral die cuts from the same Paige Evans collection around the photo. I placed my title next and also added some bunches of white thread for more texture.

I journaled a bit below the photo and placed puffy flower stickers and enamel dots on the page.

At the last minute, I added the gold washi tape down the left side to anchor everything.

Thank you for visiting today and I hope you are inspired to create! Be sure to visit the JustNick shop for this and many other files for your projects.

Starburst Layout! | Morgan Langley January 23, 2018 07:00

Hey crafty friends! Today I am sharing a fun layout I created using the "starburst" cut file and a sparkler picture I had from New Years!

I turned the cut file vertical and backed it with papers from Pink Pasilee's "Turn the Page". It was easiest to use the white stars that the cameo cut out as templates for backing, cutting them a little larger and then gluing them behind. I added ephemera from the collection, splatter paints, sequins, and fussy cut stars from the 12x12 pad and the 6x6 pad.

I love these positive speech bubbles from the 6x6 pad and thought they went perfect for this New Year's spread!

Thank you so much for stopping by and make sure to check out this fun cut file on the Just Nick Studios page! Follow me on instagram @morewithmorganl for more layouts!

Dream Chaser by Niki Rowland October 08, 2017 07:00

Hi there Just Nick fans, Niki here with you today with a fall themed layout and I have used the Leafy Background 2 cut file. Fall (or Autumn as we refer to it in the UK) is really not my thing. I'm not a fan of Autumn colours and particularly dislike brown so Autumn layouts are always challenging for me! But I do love a challenge so set about making a fall layout that I liked and remained true to my usual style. I went though all my collections and finally decided upon gold as a colour scheme and pulled out two sheets of paper from the new Paige Evans collection Turn the Page.
I backed the leaves with one sheet of the paper which had an ombre effect. I didn't have much of this paper left so had to be careful with how I used it to back my leaves. I embraced the ombre effect of the paper and have backed my leaves with the light shades at the top and the darker shades towards the bottom.
I have prepared a process video so that you can see my process of making this layout below:
Once my leaves were backed, I applied some gold spritz to the white background and added my leaves on top. I mounted the layout on another autumnal paper from the Turn the Page collection. And then I set about embellishing the layout with anything I could find in my stash that was gold or yellow in colour.
I finished off by adding some fussy cut flowers to some of the flowers on the cut file.
So even though fall really isn't my thing, I totally embraced the theme and have made a layout I love and is completely true to my style - and there's hardly any brown in sight!
Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my layout and video, happy scrapping xxx
