Love of my life | Monique Liedtke February 07, 2019 07:00
Hello JustNick fans! I can't believe it's February already! Only one more week and it's Valentine's Day! To be honest, at our home we don't really "celebrate" this day. My husband thinks Valentine's Day is too "commercial" and says he'd rather buy me flowers or chocolate on a "normal" day, rather than being forced to buy me something on February 14th. I, on the other hand, wouldn't mind getting something, like flowers, on the 14th, lol! But whether or not he buys me flowers, I love him to pieces! I also love all the Valentine's scrapbook collections and can't resist buying them. So for today's blogpost I thought I would use one of them. For this layout I used Doodlebug's "French Kiss" collection, combined with the beautiful cut file from the JustNick store "Free Love".
And this is the cut file I used: Free Love
Isn't this cut file just perfect?! I love these open letters, where you can add your own patterned papers behind them! I used the 6"x 6" paper pad as I think the smaller patterns look better in a word of this size. Here are a few close-ups:
To color the white background I used both a brush with stamping ink and some spray mist. I'm trying to do something else than using pure white cardstock backgrounds. I think I like it, it's a bit more colorful.
So, if you're looking for more "love" cut files to create your own Valentine's scrapbook page, then make sure to check out the JustNick store! There are so many beautiful cut files you can use!
Thank you so much for stopping by to take a look! Wishing you a wonderful Valentine's Day with your loved one(s)!
xoxo

It's a week of love here on the JustNick blog, and I'm definitely feeling it! I really wanted to use some older products along with some new products to finally scrap some photos that I have been setting aside for quite awhile! I used the very cute Heart Strings background cut file, as it was the perfect one for tucking photos in!
I didn't cut it very large, because I wanted to have some room for embellishments, but since I cut it out of navy blue paper it still stands out, and it matches well with the Main Squeeze collection from Crate Paper! I love how this layout turned out. It's a Valentines Day layout that is slightly different than usual layouts!
Thank you so much for stopping by, and have an awesome day!

Hey crafty friends! I am excited to be sharing another LOVE post this week! I used the beautiful "Heart is Full Background" cut file to create this fun and simple layout of my sister, Violet, and I!

I chose a very busy and colourful paper from the Crate Paper Main Squeeze collection and cut the Heart Background 4 from it, almost as big as I could go! I've then raised it up on foam pads and built up the rest of my layout at the bottom in a cluster.

Truly, Madly, Deeply - Rachel Lowe February 02, 2018 07:00
Hello JustNick friends!
I have created a 8.5x11 inch layout today, using a non traditional collection for Valentines Day! I have used My Minds Eye Blush collection.
Firstly here are the two cut files I have used to create my layout:
Firstly I cut the Blocked Heart Background but instead of using the whole 12x12 cut file I played it over my white base paper and cut it down and then attached. I added a dot of glue to the blocked hearts which was enough.
I chose my photo and changed it to a sepia tone to match with my paper choice and colour hues. I foam taped my 3x3 inch photo to a navy blue paper to ensure it did not get lost amongst the pink and rose gold.
I added a die cut flower ( which I attached with foam tape to add height) and leaves and added my title under my photo, Truly, Madly, Deeply. I added some machine sewing to the leave centres and then at the edges of my white base paper. I do love the texture sewing gives to embellishments/layouts.
I the cut the Birds of a Feather set but using only two of them to create 'two love birds' flying towards each other. To finish off I added a heart above them, another in the wing of one of the birds and gave them eyes.
Finally I stamped the date of this photo.
Here are some close up photos:
Thank you for stopping by today and have a wonderful creative week!

Hey everyone!!! It's my first layout and blog post for 2018 for JustNick! I swear, she's going to have to kick me to the curb to get me to leave! Where I live, it's cold, the wind hurts my face, and there is slush and snow everywhere, so I decided I needed to channel a little sunshine into my page!
I used the Loads of Love cut file, and I cut it out of a pinky-peach ombre paper. I was originally going to cut it out of white cardstock, but decided to use up some of the neglected solid papers in my stash. At this point I had no clue where I was going with it, only that I knew I wanted to put a picture in the largest O. I used a SnapChat pic of my daughter and I, since I needed a small one, and the quality of the photo wasn't the greatest, so it was better to keep it small. I then chose various fun patterned papers from my paper scraps stash. I always love stash busting with Nicole's cut files!
I wasn't sure what background paper to use, but in the end I couldn't resist using the bright and friendly clouds! My daughter also helped influence my background paper choice. I only did a minimal amount of embellishing, since the page was already brimming with fun! I am so happy with how seriously cute this page turned out!
Thanks so much for stopping by, and have an awesome day!
