Wonderful Memories January 04, 2017 07:00
Hello friends! Happy new year! It's Lee-Anne here today sharing my very first layout for 2017.
Last July, my family decided it was time to add a new addition to our family so we got a Golden Retriever puppy that we named Syd. Everyone was ecstatic about it except for my cat Sheldon. For this layout, I wanted to document the day we brought Syd home when he was eight weeks old and how my son was so excited to bring this adorable ball of fluff home.
The challenge was to use a word, sentiment or phrase so I chose the Word 3 cut file and cut out the words "wonderful" and "memories" on my Silhouette Cameo and used them for my title.
I hope you enjoyed my layout. I know these photos are very precious to me because my son isn't too keen about getting his photo taken and these were some candid shots.
Have a great day and happy creating!

Today Love Blooms April 25, 2016 07:00
Hello JustNick friends!
Marcia here today. It's Spring and I have been out cleaning out my flower beds to prepare them for planting this year and my husband has already put my water fountain out. He gave me this fountain as an anniversary gift over 15 years ago. I could probably count the material gifts he has given me over the years on one hand, but when he does buy me something, he knows my heart. Keeping this fountain running is a labor of love for him, a gift he continues to give me each year.
That background paper is so beautiful, but I did not want my photos to get lost. Framing them with the Spiral Background cut twice from white cardstock really helps keep them from blending into the background. The spirals are so similar to some of my floral die cuts too.
Some black Stems really pop against all that vivid color.
Here are all the cut files I used today.
Thanks for stopping by.

Welcome back to the blog! Help me welcome our super talented Guest Designer - Melissa Mann for this month!
Melissa has always had a love for papers and stickers. As a child, she collected piles and piles of Lisa Frank stickers and stationery. The infatuation hasn’t changed much these days! She found her start in scrapbooking in 2005 when she and her husband made a move from Maryland to Florida. The hobby quickly took over their spare bedroom and these days she is honored to design for Lawn Fawn, Elle’s Studio, and Citrus Twist Kits. Her projects have been published in Cards, Create, and Scrapbook Trends magazines. Melissa lives in the beautiful panhandle of Florida along the Gulf of Mexico. Her day job consists of working for Escambia County as a Tax Agent. She is married to a great guy named Troy and they have one dog and a cat. She loves music, cooking, photography, and reading. Criminal Minds, Law & Order, NCIS, and The Walking Dead are just a few of the TV shows she enjoys.
Melissa chose some files from our store to use on her projects and check out what she created!
Here is what Melissa had to say about her project:
This was a background cut file that I fell in love with in the shop! I'm a sucker for background cut files and this one immediately jumped out at me! I went ahead and backed the entire thing with one pattern paper. I chose this look because I knew I wanted to stack and layer a bunch of different pattern papers in the middle of it and layer my photo on top. I decided to only stitch down vertically on this cut file and did between each column of rectangles. I typed my journaling on a bunch of smaller labels and layered them down the left hand side of my photo. I cut out the word "REMEMBER" and layered that at the bottom of the picture and stitched it down.

Melissa had this to say about this project:
I LOVED the funky circles of this background file! I cut the file out on white card stock. Once it was cut out, I knew I wanted to back it against the Kraft card stock, but I also decided to back some of the circles with various pattern papers. I picked some muted greens/yellows/blues to go along with my pictures from the mountains of North Carolina. Once I backed some of the circles, I randomly stitched the card stock down with my sewing machine. I layered my photos, embellishments, and journaling on top of the background cut file. I absolutely loved the end result of this layout!

I have to admit I LOVE using more than one cut on my pages, I look for combinations that will give interest without distraction. I used 4 different cuts on this layout:
I found this fun picture of my brother and from back in July--I don't get very many pics with him so this was the perfect opportunity to scrap a fun memory. For the background I used the Starburst background and cut it in half. The other three cuts I used were:
If you look closely some of my cuts were cut with white cardstock, some with cream, and another I sprayed with mist. LOVE how it all came together!
Summer Memories November 09, 2015 07:00
Alas, Autumn is upon us here in the northern hemisphere and it has definitely made it's welcome here in the pacific northwest. However, that doesn't stop me from taking time to remember all my fond memories from the Summer. Especially one in particular.
I had the opportunity to go visit my moms younger brother and family. They have always been special to me but, we had all not seen each other since their wedding and I was 8 years old. Unacceptable! Such is life, though. So, the week was so surreal and wonderful. It's now an annual event and I can't wait to see them again.
For this page, I used the word 'remember' from the Word 3 cut file. So perfect! I also enlarged the ink splats cut file to layer behind the photos and add some fun interest and balance to the page.
I just love the Summer Vibes collection from Simple Stories. I love how the colors just flow and the pink ink splats are so happy to me on that wood grain!
Hey... just because it's crock pot weather here in these parts, make sure you still take time to remember those moments of basking in the sun, too! And get you some awesome cut files to use on those pages!

Oh my...I just loved the way this one turned out! These files are so fun to use! I love the Let it Shine cut file. It was the base of my layout and gave me something to build off of. Isn't this title so awesome? It was perfect for the the theme of my layout.
I added a few embellishments to this layout, but these files stand out themselves and I didn't need to add much to create an amazing page!
Thanks for stopping in and I hope you have been enjoying the new cut files that have been popping up in the JustNick Store. Make sure you are stopping by there as well as the blog frequently so you can see the latest a greatest in cut files! Until next time...Happy Crafting!

How I Love You October 23, 2015 07:00
Hey, there! Jennie here and I cannot wait to share with you the latest page I created. Four cut files on one page?! For me, that is definitely unheard of. And, a totally fun challenge.
I thought about it for a bit. Then I envisioned the files in a circle. And that is how this page was born. I took the arrows in All Boy and Arrow Set 2, then a word (You) from Everyday Words Background and one from Word 3 (love).
How does this all come together? Just like this!
Paired with some Amy Tangerine die cuts and you've got a whole circle full of die cuts that really accentuate one of my favorite photos.
Try pairing a bunch of files together -- maybe say, four!
Captured Moment October 19, 2015 07:00
Hello, everyone! Aurelie here to reveal a design I recently made with not one, not two, not three, but FOUR JustNick cut files! WOW! I must admit, when Nicole challenged some of us to use four die-cut files on one project, I was like, uh... ;) But I quickly discovered that her cut files are so versatile that mixing and matching them ended up being a breeze! WOO!HOO! Using elements of the All Boy, Speech Bubbles, WORD 3, and Plaid Background cut files, here is what I came up with:
A tad initimidated at first, yes, but totally happy with the result! And I will definitely be mixing and matching cut files more and more - the possibilities are truly, but truly endless! Thanks, Nicole, for making us think outside the box and get 'er done! ;)
Always Summer August 21, 2015 07:00
I am holding on to summer for as long as I can. I don' t know about you, but I'm not ready for the colder weather of Fall and Winter. Guiseppa here and I am going to share with you a layout that keeps me holding onto summer.
Back in January my husband and I went on a cruise to the Caribbean. This beach happens to be on the island of Antigua. This small island has some of the most beautiful beaches. I had to keep pinching myself. It was so hard to believe that I was soaking up the sun and enjoying the beach and water in January. I wanted my layout to be bright and warm, just the way I felt in the sun. I went with a non traditional beach layout and used the Open Triangles and Word 3 cut files. Have a looksy!
I used the 'always' from the Word 3 cut file as part of my title because it's true...It's ALWAYS summer in the Caribbean.
Here are some close ups on the Open Triangles cut file I used. I love that I can use the outside and the inside of this file...giving me more options I even added some embellishments to them.
I am having so much fun creating with the JustNick cut files found in the JustNick Store. Go have a look for yourself. There are lots of unique cut files you won't find anywhere else. Thanks for stopping in and having a look at my layout. Until next time...HAPPY CUTTING!
Today July 22, 2015 07:00
Jennie here to share with you a page I created with the beautiful Word 3 cut file. I absolutely, positively LOVE this one. The font is just beautiful and these words are so very usable. I looked at the included words for a moment before I decided which one to incorporate in the page I wanted to create.
Don't you agree that the font in the Word 3 file is awesome? Have you downloaded this one yet? What are you waiting for - I'm sure you can find lots of projects to use it on. Make sure you share with us on the Just Nick Facebook page or tag Just Nick on Instagram so we can see!
