Hello Just Nick friends and fans, it's Jaclyn here today. In my part of the world everywhere you go is filled with signs of back to school. All of the store shelves are stocked with supplies, alarms are set for earlier mornings and the kid's are all heading off with new clothes and backpacks, to new school year adventures. Being surrounded by everything school related, was just the push I needed to work on some first day of school pictures from the 2014-15 school year.
Can you spot which Just Nick cut files I used on my back to school page? I combined the Word Bubbles and Card Sentiments 1 files to create my title. Combining the two files was easy. I sized the word bubble to fit within the spot I wanted it to sit, on my page and then layered the "YAY!" portion of the card sentiments file overtop of it.
To give the word a little more 'pop', I backed the cut file with some red cardstock and used tiny letter stickers to complete my subtitle.
I couldn't stop myself at using only one word bubble - there are, in fact, several designs and styles included within the file. Some sized down versions of the round bubble made the perfect home for a grouping of embellishments and even for some added text.
I even enlarged one of the rectangular bubbles to just over 6" long - making it an ideal spot for my journaling.
If you missed the post from last week, you might not know that Word Bubble file is available to you for FREE, but only until August 31st! Hurry on over and add the Word Bubble file to your cart and use the code: WORDBUBBLES at checkout to snag this cute design at no charge to you!
I came across our August Guest Designer's work on YouTube and fell in love! Please welcome our August Guest Designer - Rory Villancourt
Hello I am Rory a Family first, scrapbook addicted, dog loving, bike pedaling, photo clicking, nature lovin', simple things enjoying, Canadian Girl.
We gave Rory some bucks to spend in our store and make a few projects - check out this first project that she created!
Here is what Rory had to say about her page:
I had all kinds of fun using the Sunny Days cut files for this 8.5 by 11 layout. The cut shapes layer so nicely together. I outlined all the files with white cardstock so they would stand out and clustered them around the page. A few embellishments was all it took to finish it off. This layout is the first selfie of my daughter and I in her new place.
Rory decided to use the Best Day Ever cut file to create this wonderful page!
Here is what she had to say about this page:
My second layout is all about the title. It really was the Best Day Ever! I took this photo just minutes after my daughter got the keys to her new home. That's why I chose this cut file. It's big and bold on the page. I also love the look of a cursive font mixed with a blocky one. I outlined the title cut file with white cardstock so I could pop it up on the page. I like the shadows and that way could keep the dimension of the cut. I love the skinny font of the words best and ever.
I had some Serious fun Guest Designing and making layouts with these Just Nick cut files
