JustNick Cut File Store

Remember 2015 December 29, 2015 07:00

As I write my last post for JustNick it seems perfect to be sharing a layout about Remembering!  As we enter into a new year in a few days - I wanted to document some special pictures of my kiddos. I also wanted to a post that highlighted some of my favorite things about JustNick's files - I loved working with her background files, I loved working with her word files, and I definitely loved her circles!  This layout incorporates all three!

Just Nick has so many great background files and I always enjoyed trying to find a unique twist on them. One of my favorite layouts was one where I did string art - that was a massive undertaking.  This time I decided to do string art again with the Scribble Circle Background but on a much smaller scale.  Just a little in between the middle scribble circles.

I also really enjoyed working with all the word/text files that JustNick has to offer - so there was no better choice for my big bold title than the Remember word set!

Thanks for the wonderful ride here at JustNick!  I know you are going to love the new team and enjoy their creations!

Grateful for my Son November 18, 2015 07:00

I have four kids and between the two little boys who are at a cute and very scrappable age and my daughter, my oldest son often gets neglected in layouts.  This wasn't always the case but as he's aged, good pictures and topics are less easy to come by. So for this week's topic of gratitude I thought I would focus my layout on him.  Christine joining you today with a layout about my wonderful 11 year old son!

I love words and love to incorporate a lot of them onto layouts.  I thought the Everyday Words file contained some words that were perfect for showing how grateful I am for him as well as some of the things I think of him.  I was also really excited to use the file as a base for my whole layout and slide pictures in accordingly!

In order to get my pictures on there I had to cover up some of the words.  I also tried to keep the pictures placed so it was visually pleasing and not too crazy of a design.  I backed each of the words with a patterned paper in different fall colors and patterns and then did some outlining with my brown pen.

I also made use of some enamel dots cascading down the page to try and keep the eyes moving downward and reading. JustNick has so many great word files - you can find one to fill the need you have for your current layout and more!

Fancy Floral Background Fun July 27, 2015 00:00

It's floral week here at JustNick and have we got some great projects to show you!  There are so many great floral options in the store - make sure to take a peek!  Christine joining you today and I decided to use the Fancy Floral background and create a layout around it. I absolutely love how it is several different kinds of flowers!

Adding patterned papers to the back of cut file backgrounds is so trendy.  It takes a little bit of a time commitment but the end result is always fabulous!  There are a couple different ways to add the papers: you could cut out file multiple times using your different papers or just add to the back of your file and cut around them.  I've done both ways depending on how intricate the file is.  This one wasn't too bad to cut around - but if it was super intriciate I would piece it together!

JustNick also offers tons of great word files and I love to use those for titles!  For this layout I used a couple pieces from the Word 2 file.

One of my favorite things about using background cut files is that they don't require a whole lot beyond them.  Simply add some words and a few simple embellishments and  you can be done!  Come on back tomorrow for another fabulous floral project!
