This is 7th Grade | Majken Pullin October 7, 2021 07:00

Hello, hello crafty friends!  Majken here with you today to share a scrapbook layout using a new cut file called "Rosette Background". I also decided to create an 8 1/2" x 11" layout for this project to capture my son's first day of 7th grade.  Let's take a look!

I opened the Rosette Background cut file in my Silhouette Studio software and resized it to 10.5" x 10.5" and then sent it to cut on my Cameo with navy blue cardstock.  I punched 2" circles using a punch and then backed each large circle with those punches, trimming slightly if I didn't adhere it exactly behind the circle.

Originally I was going to use the full background, but I also wanted to use those large leaves from the Bungalow Lane collection, so I trimmed a wide strip of the background to use as a pattern along the right edge.

Next, I trimmed one of the cut apart 3x4 cards to put next to the photo of my son. And then I layered the leaves underneath to ground the photo and card, using 3D foam tape to pop up several leaves for dimension.

I used Thickers for the title, along with a navy alpha sticker set for the "This is" part.

I put a little embellishment cluster in the top right corner, but I really like the white space after that, so I left some of that white space to balance the layout.

Here is the cut file I used today:

You don't have to use the cut file as it is given - instead you can modify it using software or even a trimmer once it's already cut out!  Your imagination is the limit.  Join us on Instagram for more inspiration, and share your projects with us using #justnickstudio.

I'm so glad you stopped by today - enjoy the rest of your week!
