Today is a Good Day to be Happy | Majken Pullin November 29, 2019 07:00
Hello crafty friends! It's Majken today here with you on the JustNick Studio blog, and I have a scrapbook layout to share with you today where I've hand-stitched my cut file title. Here is my layout.
I have a tutorial on how to create a stitch file from a cut file with the Silhouette Cameo here. Today's method was a little different in that I cut the inside of the "Happy" and the stitch holes on the outside edge to then stitch the outside. Here's what that looked like in Silhouette Studio.
In the above example, I released the compound path and removed the inside pieces so that only the word outline would cut. My stitch holes were created by creating an offset of "Happy" and then proceeding to add the periods to the offset. You will need to make sure your offset is large enough for the stitching to not tear through the edges.
After I cut "Happy" and the stitch holes, I stitched with embroidery thread and then backed the title with the fun patterned paper from Bella Blvd "Squeeze the Day" collection!
I also sprinkled some black ink and enamel hearts and stickers on the layout, and included a heart from Basic Hearts to pair with the smaller hearts from the collection.
My photo area needed a bit more of a boost, so I cut out a Scalloped Flowers to use in the mat area.
Here are the cut files I used for today's project:
I'm so glad you stopped by today! Have a happy Friday and enjoy your weekend!
