You are my happy | Anna Blades July 29, 2020 07:00
Welcome back to the JustNick Studio blog. This is Anna and for today's project, I was in the mood to do some mixed media background.
I love big title cut files, so I used the "You are my happy" cut file, which is fantastic because you have three different styles with the same phrase purchasing just one cut file.
First, I used my watercolor markers from Vicki Boutin to create a watercolor background with three colors: pink, yellow, and mint. Then, I used a stencil by Paige Evans and white texture paste to give more texture and interest. I cut one of the titles from the "You are my happy" cut file from white cardstock and outlined the capital letters with a black marker to make them stand out.
I cut just the word "happy" from pattern paper because I wanted it to be more visible. This way it matches the rest of the page too. I also covered the heart of the cut file with a heart that I fussy cut from one of the papers from the collection that I used.
To embellish my page I used the "Floral swag 5" cut file. I cut it from white cardstock and placed it in the upper right corner. I was thinking to color it with watercolors, but finally, I decided to leave it white. I ripped four stripes of pattern paper and glued them at the top and bottom of the page. I love this floral paper.
For this layout, I used an old collection from Simple Stories: "Posh". It's one of my "old faves", but now I only have a few bits left. Look at that little bird, isn't it the cutest?
And that's it! I hope you like this layout and I hope it gives you some inspiration. Don't forget to check out the new cut files in the store every week!
Have a crafty week! See you soon!
