Hi Just Nick friends! It's Jaclyn joining you today to share a pink and girly page featuring the equally feminine Floral Swag 2 digital design.
Oftentimes when I cut a digital file on my silhouette I will default to using white cardstock. I do this because, white allows for the ability to add color through inks or paints and provides a nice contrast against bold and busy patterns papers. However, when I decided to use the Floral Swag 2 design, I knew that cutting it from plain white just wouldn't do - so I opted for a simple patterned paper instead. Cutting it from a subtle polka dot pattern with splashes of pink, feels a bit unexpected and kicks up the design a notch, I think!
This pretty cut file nestles nicely in between my rows of photos. It's placement is strategic, as it draws your eyes to the photos, page title and journaling, seamlessly.
I used a few additional Just Nick designs to embellish my floral swag. I pulled the brush script 'you' from the Simple Sentiments file to create my page title. Cutting this pretty word design from black really allows it to pop off the page.
I also cut some additional pink florals from the Stems for Stephanie file to layer atop the swag, creating even more depth and dimension. A sprinkle of ephemera diecuts and three dimensional embellishments really make this piece special.
I loved the challenge of mixing a brand new design with some of Nicole's older and well loved files in my digital cut library. I hope it's a challenge you will try too!
